Like I said may times Lu for Schenn

Schenn out Reilly in No salary dumps thanks.

So far, I am not impressed by Schenn at all.

But it is too early to give up on a big physical shut-down D. I especially want to see him for a year or two under a good D system coach.

I think if they trade him for Luongo, they may regret it.

I would do Colborne + salary dump + 2nd, which I think is somewhere close to what happens. Colborne may be Kadri / Franson / Gunnarson instead?

That isn't fair.

I look at the Kings, Penguins, Capitals etc. and it just makes it soooo glaring how bad the Leafs roster is by comparison.

Schenns confidence is shot... and really he might not be bright enough to figure out how to play the game to his strengths.

He needs to work the boards and front of the net low only.. Zone never chase up to the circles as he does.. have the other speedy offensive guy rotating and covering more on the outside.. while he handles it down low.

And he should pass to his partner as he makes a bad clearance every time.

Seriously guys would it have been a bad move to trade down, grab a couple of 2nd round picks with the first round pick of course and address a NEED for a top line centre in Grigs or Faksa? At least we would have 1 body in our system that can address that need 1,2,3 years from now.

To be fair, all three teams were poopty but REBUILDING for lots of years. Plus them drafting 1st overall and such helped a lot. For the past 8 years we've just been trading 1st rounders and all sorts of poop for quick fixes. JFJ really (frank)ed us too.

I am hoping that you have described both the cause AND effect in your post ... and fixing the cause (confidence) will create a new effect also.

Are we still "rebuilding" when Lu gets here? btw, good luck scoring Mackinnon with Lu in our nets.

I maintained for years that we would feel the pain from the JFJ era for at least 5 years after he was gone.

I was hoping I was wrong, now, in hindsight, unfortunately I was right.

You are kidding but might have a point.. if the Germans were that slow footed.. I could see how the allies got around them and beat them easily in the end.

Yes, we agree on that. Expect it to continue. Burke has 1 year left to do something. Its all borrowed time for him now.

Love what Washington did and Buffalo and Tampa may have huge upsides from their first round this year also.
