Not true at all.

If you sign Schultz, I suspect one or even two of Fransson/Schenn/Gunner are gone. You move those guys to improve.

- mochoson

Gally was the key man he's an Habs = failure

Atleast luongo puts up numbers. Komi is worse way to much and does nothing.
- Jake_1723

A lot of rumor guys have him being dumped to the Nucks either in a deal for Lu, or for Ballard.

So yeah, enjoy Komisarek I guess.

We have seen glimpses of what schenn can do, and now under carlyle maybe he will improve. And your point murray played better? Why wouldnt he play better? Hes trying to prove himself, what does schenn have to prove? He is already on the leafs and has a roster spot, whats playing for canada have to prove to leaf fans? The only way he proves himself is with the leafs and he shows the player he was the first season he played with the leafs.
- Mapleleafs_91

There was a reason murray was picked higher he can actually get a point. IDC if schenn is shutdown guy he turns it over every shift

Reilly and Reinhart were actually the best dmen available today imo.
- sanfordnson

I'm not saying this because we picked Rielly, but IMO i think he comes out the best defensemen of the draft, just because he seems to play both ends of a defensemens game so well.. Murray and Reinhart might be better defensively but i think overall Rielly comes out better than both because of his elite offensive potential and smart defensive play.. i could be wrong, just my opinion.

When i saw Paul Hendrick tweet saying that burke may take a defensemen at 5, i was pissed, but i hoped for Rielly.. but at the same time i was really surprised

Rielly will take a while to get him ready for the NHL. I can see franson, holzer, blacker and komi out the door before schenn and gunner.
- Mapleleafs_91

Gunner and Schenn have the most value. You only move those guys if your getting a #1 center.

The difference is that Schenn hasn't has the chance to play under a defensive minded coach like Carlyle.

I expect Schenn to have a bounce back year and thrive under Carlyle.

- As_I_See_It

Wow. Pretty much said the same thing before seeing your post. Power forwards are overpriced right now. Look at the price for Nash.

Schenn had a less than stellar year, so his trade value is less than his actual value to the Leafs, at the moment. Doesn't make sense to trade him right now.

Drafting Reilly puts that more in jeopardy imo. Less room than ever on their blueline.

I have a good idea where he'll sign now..

Theres no market for him, and if he stays Schneider will want out. Your Luongo contract has got your balls in a vicegrip. Poor Nucks, came close enough to taste it, but never will with their soap opera they call a franchise
- Suckitcrosby

Soap Opera I'm pretty sure thats more the leafs than the canucks

They will soon suffer our pain that we've been going through for 8 years now...

if i was Feaster i would trade Iginla and Kipper for picks and prospects, go into next year with a poopty team and draft MacKinnon... Boom, franchise is back on track within a year

- peddy-93

Yeah but put it this way my friend. If luongo wants out of vancouver, nucks have no choice but to move him, if he wants to stay there by all means stay there i could care less. But if he wants out and leafs are the only option they have, they take whatever the leafs give them, and if that means komi, you will godamn take komi Im fine with scrivens and reimer, and if this means burke is fired, (if the leafs dont make playoffs) then thats the way hes going to go. He wont screw up the leafs and trade our future away for a 33 year old with a crappy contract.

Agree, except I lean towards Reinhart long term. PLus, he has a sweet name.

Still think Burke should have taken a forward though.

Well considering he...

-Didn't even play 50 games = With MULTIPLE injuries including a conussion!
-Spent half his season on the 3rd and 4th line = EXACTLY!!
-Was never really healthy, save the first few games of the season = Injury prone? Sounds like it!
-3 might as well be a +10 = BUUUUT it's not, and even poorer when considered the high offensive team he's on

Who the (frank) even looks at +/- anymore? Worthless stat.

- mochoson
= It's only a key measure for the Selke and Norris... Nah, nobody cares!

AGAIN, JvR is not worth Schenn+ or Gardiner...

He's a potential L-I-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y making $4.5M and is Philly's problem! If JvR is so (frank)in' good, then why is Philly so horny to trade him? I know they need D, but seriously?!??!

Yeah but what center is really available? There is like none. And id trade gunner before schenn. I just have a gut feeling if we ever make playoffs, schenn is going to dominate and bring lots of toughness to the table.

Don't kid yourself Burke could have fetch the 2nd for schenn and 5 but he did nothing just like Brayden schenn

Luongo never demanded a trade said he wouldn't make his ntc a problem if dealt. Check your facts and you go with reimer and scrivens

I disagree. Reilly is atleast a year away from the NHL. More then likely 2 years.

Has nothing to do with Schultz. If anything, Gardiner, Schultz, and Reilly with Schenn and say Percy and Phaneauf is a hell of a d-core down the road.

Cant argue with you there, both have our own opinions

And yes i wanted him to take a risk with Grigs but i knew that was not going to happen, i was almost 100% sure he was taking Forsberg
