He's no longer a prospect. Also he was drafted while Tallon was GM.
- Blackwater13

I thought that pick was Scotty Bowman's brainchild? At least that's how I thought the story went...

Why do I get the sense that alcohol has something to do with all this in fighting going on here?

Where's a manageable salary cap that wasn't phucked beyond belief by his predecessor necessitating trading half the god damn team?

SO ONE IN THE FIFTH ROUND ARE YOU KIDDING ME.

The point is hes drafted size and Krueger the one smurf hes drafted MADE THE TEAM. You dont pass on TT at 18 period.

no doubt through FAgency and trades. Nobody the Hawks picked would have made a differnce at 18 right now. They would not have been ready for another 3 or 4 years. By then the Hawks might be huge.

Minus Girgensons I thought he could have made an immediate impact but he got drafted oh well.

- mvp0207

I thought Forsberg was NHL ready. I proposed an aggressive trade for the 13 pick which would have backfired on me, but Girgensons would have been available ha.

Regardless STAN BOWMAN didn't make it. The pick was made while Tallon was GM thus its his draft.

I dont know if I was willing to give away assets to get him. I was just hoping he fell. He still MOST likely will go to vermont for a year or two,

Think a lot of people are butt hurt that the hawks didn't make a trade today. There is still plenty of time to make some moves, the hawks were not in play on really any of the guys moved anyway.

And at pick #18 wtf are you expecting? Dustin Brown/andrew ladd mold to contribute on the top line this year???? You take the high end talent in that position. I'm no stan bowman apologist but just saying he only drafts smurfs is a joke. Brandon Saad, mark mcneill, hayes bros. are not what you call smurfs. Stop whinning for the sake of whinning. You should blame dale tallon for drafting kane because he is a smurf, they should have picked karl alzner in that draft, he's got some size right?

- Wowo2282

Agreed. Here's to hoping they make some moves on those kind of players in trade/FA. Would love to see Ott lining up next to JT. People keep saying if Hammer gets dealt to OTT they'd like to see Foligno come our way. Haven't seen him play enough. Is he a guy that fill out one of the top 2 LW spots?

I haven't had mine yet but that's a capital idea.

Good night everyone. Let's hope something good happens soon for the big club.

And MVP - if you think that about me you definitely don't know me very well.

quote=mrpaulish]Where have JJ and Al been ? Im dreaming of some explanation with a preview of the plan. However I fear there is simply nothing to report.

I have been around for the most part...

I said on Twitter about 5 hours ago...Hawks don't have to do anythimg today but they have to do something soon.

Have not read all the pages, so I apologize if this was already posted from Ek;

On Teuvo Teravainen...

Ok, I am NOT the prospect guy on hockeybuzz. Truth be told, in my opinion, we have the #1 site on the internet for prospects. the work Brian Huddle, Eric Smith, Adam French, Julie Robenhymer, and the rest of the writers are doing this season getting you ready for the draft on Friday is PHENOMENAL.

However, I do have a scoop on Teuvo Teravainen.

While he is ranked all over the map, I am hearing from several teams that he is quite likely to 5 and will definitely go top 10 in the draft. He is constantly compared to Claude Giroux for his vision and playmaking abilities.

One scout, "The kid is a flat out star. He is a can't miss...even above the Russians in our book."

Another scout told me not since Saku Koivu has a Finnish player come into the NHL with such a high promise. I remember Koivu drawing Larionov comparisons...

Anaheim, Montreal, Carolina are possibilities....Edmonton is trying to get another top 10 pick to draft him....and don't be surprised if a team were to move up as well...Philly and Boston really like Teuvo as well...

"He won't stick around nearly as long as people are thinking," a western source informed me again today, "Top 8 definitely."

Why did he fall? Everyone above the Hawks (except the Caps) want a blue-liner?

OK, Tallon was the GM, but Scotty was the adviser who lobbied for Kruger to be picked. I think I got it now.

I've really appreciated your insight on this draft. I'm far from an expert but had some ideas. My assessment is still TBD. Goalie prospect is a must either through the draft or trade.

Its apointless arguement who picked him anyway beacuse although hes small hes one of many picks over hte last few years whos been small and hes made the team.

I just dont know where you guys get this stuff from. Euro Smurfs? WHAT
