The holes they have to fill wont get filled in the draft in most cases. When you draft I the NHL you draft for a few years down the road and not immediately like football and basketball.

NHL is like Baseball.. Very hard to jump from Draft to Pros.. Not that it can't be done.. just hard.

NHL is about stockpiling talent. They got a top 5-10 talent at 18. Great pick.

Hard to say, could be third line C. Better to have centers that have to play wing than vice versa (like Kane)

Savvy....hockey moms RULE....feel bad for Scott Laughton...drafted into the NHL and assailed relentlessly by the Pens BOO BIRDS. Kid dealt with it well.

I was convinced with Vasilevski after JJ mentioned him and I did some research. The 'Hawks system isn't exactly flooded with goalie prospects. Look at TB's approach. They just got Lindback from NSH, now draft a guy whom JJ thinks is pretty good. Hmmm...

What other smurfs has he drafted. Krueger was a second rounder but hes drafted a lot of size and grit the last couple years.
