What makes him inept. He has drafted well the past few years.....he has swung and missed on a few deals....made a couple of good minor deals. But as JJ has said a lot of times him standing pat has been at the directive of higher ups.

Oh no now this will move from a draft night to another Bowman argument. All we need now is a Kane story to be released.

We waited lat year, after he made a draft-day move to free up tons of cap space: now they have all that space to use on July 1, before the season starts, at the trade deadline - how did all of that work out?

Two years (and maybe I'll be surprised in about an hour) and he has not brought in a top-6 forward or a top-4 defenseman, or a top anything goalie.

OR a proven 3rd or 4th line forward, OR a proven depth defenseman.

Patience is running out.

I'd aggressively be trying to trade Hammer to someone around 11, 12, or 13. Forsberg and Grigorenko are quality forwards that would be a good fit. They're both Euros though so some people on here might freak out.

My crazy offer to Dallas
18th pick
Hammer
Stalberg
Saad if necessary

For:
Ott
13th pick

You're up ... Forsberg & Grigorenko just went 11, 12...

I'd say that's a BIT much with or without Saad, a ton with Saad

And for all those who are calling for him to be fired it's not happening any time soon. This is Q's year.....and if the Hawks fail Q is the one that will go. Bowman will get a chance to replace him before he is ever fired.

I'm by no means a Stan backer but I refuse to sit here every second and act like a fool because he hasn't made a trade. It's a long off season and free agency is July 1st. I would rather reserve judgement until training camp starts.
- UnnamedSource

Yeah, I get it. I'd like to be in that camp too. However, NOTHING little Stanley has done since he's become GM gives me any confidence he has a clue what he's doing. And remember, as has been said before, Scotty, while a great COACH -- sucked as a GM. His track record as GM was awful, so if he's pulling the strings or otherwise meddling in decisions does not give me any confidence whatsoever.

All one has to know about Stanley:
Trading Brouwer, our one and only POWER forward for a pick.
Signing Bruno, for $2M no less
Signing Montador -- 4 freaking years, $2.75M per and then give him a limited NTC as a cherry on top.

I could go on -- it's been rehashed here before. Would like to be optimistic but history says no reason to be.

I get the sense those were Q directed moves. Not saying Bowman isn't without fault there, but if you're coach says this is what i want and you get him what he asked for, well . . .

As far as Brouwer, it's to early to tell.
Bruno was a one year deal so really low impact
Signing Montador......not the best but if he is able to get rid of him......it would be impressive.
