You know what's franking scary? Howson is still employed. An even scarier thought is that if Bowman keeps screwing the pooch, he might still be employed too. - EKolb13
OMG dude don't say that |

I think Rocky will (SHOULD) hold Bowman accountable depending on this season and will fire him if need be. I don't think McConnell (majority owner of CBJ) cares enough what Howson does or doesn't do. - al_blog
I wouldn't doubt that you're right. I just thinking about a "nightmare scenario," just for kicks. |

Wow! That late? He is a bit bigger than Subban, and a bit older,he would be in an Indian head a lot sooner if they draft him..just my opinion |

Nash is due 7.8 mil for next 6 years, 47mil left
Kane is 6.3 mil for next 3 years, 19 mil left
you take Nash and that contract with Hossa on books next 7 years and 5.25 mil the Hawks will be not be able to do anything in free agency not to mention paying Toews in 3 years.
Nash is a great player but his contract is one of the worst in NHL right now besides that goalie for Canucks who I hate so much I will not say or type his name.
Kane for Nash with similar contract is a no brainer but when the difference is 29 MIL not a chance Hawks take that on... - DeepThreat
Ha well think about in 3 years when Kane renews his contract. Do you think Kane will be fine staying at 6 mil? Your math doesnt add up when u compare a guy with a locked in contract for 7yrs to a guy who will be out of his contract in 3. Also do you realize that players will be wanting more money as time goes by, so in 3 years Kane will be wanting a hell of a lot more money. |

Exactly. And why take the athlete posing as a goalie when you could get an athletic goaltender... |

I will be very happy with him or the Russian... It's time for a real netminder in the system... or atleast one that has that potential. |

If he is asking for more in 3 years, that would be a good thing. That would he has put up some monster numbers and continued to contribute to the team's success. Something I think will happen.. |

Yeah, but who knows...maybe Bowman takes another puck moving D-man..i hope not..i want to see them draft a goalie that can be here in a few years..I think Subban would take possibly 4-5 years to be in the NHL..he is like 17 right? |

That guy is a moron. He's asking for the world for Nash yet gives up alot in the form of 3 picks for Bobrovsky? |

dont even bother getting excited about the mock drafts, after the first 8 picks, everything is a crap shoot because sometimes GMs are surprised by the players left on the board
some GMs see some hidden upside in players and draft them early because they really want them, some GMs arent that enamored with some prospects that are touted to go high and dont take them and they fall in the draft.
Hawks could have a plan, but guess what, if some stud center falls enough, the hawks could trade up for him or take him if he falls all the way to them
The hawks werent planning on taking mcneil last year because he was expected to be off the board by a lot of mock drafts by the time it got to them, but he fell and the hawks jumped on him |

From what JJ has said and other have written the word is Subban is really raw. If that's the case, 4-5 years would be a minimum, if he ever does make it to the NHL.

Oh I know it can easily be a forward or D man. I actually think Bowman has done pretty well drafting in stark contrast to his absolute cluelessness about constructing a roster. But then again... maybe that is due to our scouting. I will be happy with either. If they take Subban, I trust the scouts see something we don't. |

There were not many expecting McNeil to fall that low.
