like burke had reilly at #1
- LEAFSfan28191

Again, he's pulling those words outta his ass. I like Reilly, but not ahead of Reinhart, Gal, Murray or Yak.

People are tripping...Leafs got a blue chip PMD prospect in a year of D picks. This guy could be our Karlsson. I'll take it and run.

He's a bum. He should have been drafted in the 3rd round. Burke needs to be fired. Kessel caused this. I love dongs.

I feel sorry for Reilly he is coming to a team with very bad development in a position that we have an overabundance of.. and unless he lights up every camp.. management will show very little confidence in him.. and he will get injured in the AHL..

I still can't believe Burke said he had him @ #1.

He should be fired just for saying that!!!

Reilly will be better than Forsberg..........

Forsberg will be good, but 12 to 14 teams passed on him for a reason. To bash Toronto for something close to half the league did is nuts

- cor99

disagree.

no knocks on reilly, but he doesn't address any needs. the franchise has been suffering for high end offensive talent, and have been trying to compensate for it by creating a log jam of middle tier talent.

reilly makes certain defenseman expendable, none of whom can fetch the high end offensive talent that forsberg is.

i've got no room for that # of teams passed on forsberg BS. the same could be said about any nhler ever drafted outside of the 10 spot in the 50 years of the draft.

Doubt it.. think Grigorenko even will be a nightmare for years in Buffalo.. dekeing around a defensively liable Leaf defender and passing to an open man at the far post ad nausem

This team needs a star, Burke sees star potential in Reilly that he doesnt see in Forsberg. 13 other teams, didnt see that in Forsberg.

I'll trust the Leafs, and the other 12-13 teams that passed on Forsberg and Grigs then you, a troll blowing smoke out of your ass

no kidding, got nothing against the kid.. but come on.

we have what we have.. holzer and blacker look allright, we drafted percy in the first round last year, theres rumours about shultz..

how much (frank)ing defensive talent does a franchise need.

Well the trolls are out in full force right now. The Leafs took the best player available, which is the right move at where we are at

Wow. completely shocked at the groans of disappointment. I thought for sure he was taking Forsberg. Reilly has elite level potential. I just didn't think he would take him due to our plethora of offensive Dmen, but is the best skater of them all and better hands as well. I was ecstatic. A) he wasn't Forsberg B) Our blueline is INSANE offensively now and C) he was easily the BPA.

it is about needs when your entire franchise is completely logjammed at that position with talent already, and rumoured to be signing another blue chipper.

you cant just bank on the idea that trades will address value that was skipped on in the draft.

Galchenyuk played even less. But we all would have been happy with him.

The only problem with Rielly is that he is a defenseman, not a huge problem in my mind.

For many other scouts.. he was not the best choice at that position... other teams filled their holes..

again, not a big problem with reilly, just a problem with spending a rare 5th overall pick on another blueliner. it's a wasted pick.

How do we have really bad development? We USED to, give Burke more than 3 frickin years, to you, develop players.

People are pissed for drafting a potentially better player than Gardiner, and would rather have just 1 of him rather than a questionable center? or winger? Faksa would have been good but he does not have Reilly's ceiling.
