should definitely still be looking at prices to trade for another pick..

teravainen, grigorenko, and faksa still sitting there..

added with forsberg.. there were a bunch of steals sitting around.

Really really pissed off with the pick, that is it, that is all.
- LeafMan

Its ok bro this is a good pick you can never not have enough defense and forsberg couldnt be that amazing if 9 other teams passed on him

Agree

OMG as if we didn't take a forward.

This is the only move BBs made since Kessel-trade that I disagree with.

It's simply mind boggling.

Then again, it surely must mean that Schenn's on his way out

- AngryWhiteMale

I'm not too bothered, as this surely means Burke's got a line on an established NHL forward.

I'd say the odds are very good that he's had some discussions about Bobby Ryan. Maybe he thinks he's got a shot at Parise.

We'll look back on this draft in 5 years, and things will be all over the board. I predict we'll see at least one top 5 bust, and the best player to come out of this might not even be in the top 5.

D-men are historically pretty unpredictable, even in the top round.

There will be a ton of "what were they thinking?" moments when we look back at this. Some people will undoubtedly call their perfect hindsight a sign of their genius.

Remember thomas Hickey at 7, 2 after luke schenn?

We knew he wasnt taking Grigs... And it seems Burke wasnt the only one who didnt like what he saw in Forsberg. He took who he felt was the BPA... And if Reilly really is the best pmd in the draft, then its not the worst pick, by any means.

If there wasn't a can't miss centre, BPA is the right move.

I'm REALLY SUPRISED that Faksa is still there, Burke has to talk to Calgary or Dallas, and see the price on their pick

He wouldn't turn down an opportunity to draft a guy like Forsberg unless he really, genuinly did have something cooking.

That I do believe.

To go for a Dman of all positions is a sign of that

Teravainen too

And we have to think one of those two could fall further.

There's still a couple half decent Dmen like Ceci there

I cant believe Burke had Rielly #1 on his list
- peddy-93

Because...?

...He was ranked lower on Mackenzie's mock draft? The ISS had him at 8? You personally watched all the top 30 prospects and ranked them independently?

I'm really not trying to be a jerk, but most people are just passing off second-hand knowledge as their own, then getting indignant when pro scouts and GMs don't go along with this second-hand knowledge.

I'm not, Faksa is safe, but low ceiling. Teravainen is tiny.
