But this is the same leaf roster that was 6th - 7th until February.....so they held a playoff spot for 5 months.

Oh its not just me...but every hockey expert as well that as said, had the leafs had lou last season, they'd be a playoff team.
I believe Bobby Mac knows what he is talking about.

Trades are always a gamble. Burke has a good record for sure, but you can't win 'em all (cough, Kessel, cough). Some players get better when you get them and some get worse. A lot of time you are trading for potential.

Kessel is an elite winger, 82 point season without a true center? That's impressive. Yes we did give up the two firsts for him - over payment, but in order to get quality you have to pay. Seguin, Hamilton and Knight for Kessel is a good trade in my eyes though. Still would have loved to have Seguin on our team but hey, you can't change what's happened. Very happy with Kessel.

I'll never understand how the Leafs got destroyed in that trade. If Kessel turned into a bust and put up 40-50 pts. Sure. It gets tiresome.
