Trying not to get too excited because it always let you down on draft day. What's your sense on what will go down today?
- LeafMan

I dunno, it seems like every draft gets more exciting in the days leading up to it(probably just got less going on and getting older) but your right, lol as a Canucks fan at the end of the day Lou will still probably be here, and Gillis will probably take a gamble on some kid not even projected in the top 190

Hopefully there are some good trades though and surprise moves. I feel that Burke will do something big today.... Because I feel with new ownership there may be a little bit of pressure on him to be successful or at least show progress this year. either way if the GMs get busy, we should all be in for a good day.

Hopefully I don't fail my tests today

I have a strange feeling that all the hype surrounding possible trades around the draft, plus July 1st free agency, are going to end up being very dissapointing to all us Leaf Fans...

We will not get:

Nash, Luongo, Parise, etc...

I am not drinking Burkes cool-aid...

That's the spirit

I think Burke will do something , just not a blockbuster.

Exactly! All this hype and we all know nothing is going to happen. The only thing that will take place is Nash will get traded, but not to the Leafs....

After Saturday all the Leafs will have is a handful of unproven youngsters and alot of distraught fans, including me...

Let the 'fire burke' chants begin at the ACC!!!

Don't eat pizza all that much, only get it as a treat for the little one, I can live without it.

"but it is clear that if Toronto comes back from Pittsburgh with only Filip Forsberg or Teuvo Teravainen added to the fold, that this weekend will be labeled as a failure"

That's why Toronto has so much trouble building, because management has no patience!
With Yak, Galy, Murray, Grigs, Forsberg, Rielly available you're getting a very good young prospect...why is that a failure? Building a contender takes time.

- LeftCoaster

um... pretty sure that's not a quote from Burke

fans and media have no patience.

Not much closer to do determining Luongo's future this am. Source close to the trade talks says "lots of balls in the air." #TSN

well..........this is just gross

- jimdavis

other than the sound of Luongo's balls in the air, I expect a very quiet day trade-wise; the sounds of birds (ie. bloggers) chirping is all we'll hear.

lol, there a lot of players in the bottom half of first round or top half of second round that will probably be better then the top picks, haha. Might get really lucky with that pick.

Yeah, we usually get our hopes high then it ends up a huge disappointment on draft day, but at least it's something to watch.

I'm talking more of the trading part, but all depends on who is picked, right?
