got news for you--so do the Leafs.
Mason would be a stupid acquisition. Raycroft 2.0. why trade for an unproven goalie because you're unsatisfied with your 2 unproven goalies? - DoubleDown
So do the Habs. |

I have a feeling that the Leafs will nab this guy soon. I was pro-Harding until he re-signed, then Mason came on my radar. Now that CBJ has Bob.......who knows?

He was never the same player after getting jacked by Lucic.
Markov covered up for him.
It was a stupid signing - made even more stupid by the fact that we jettisoned Kubina to make room.
Kubina was and is a better player than Komi.
The smart move would have been to keep Kubina, and let Montreal re-sign Komi, thereby weakening a divisional rival. - Atomic Wedgie
a few names - which could be debated - were signed after July 1st that same summer:
Scuderi
Wisnewski
Andrew Alberts
and my personal favorite
Clayton Stoner.
now I'm not saying that's a stellar crowd... but I believe you can make an arguement that each could have been had for less the Krapasarek, for lesser years, and none of them would have had the "impact" K has had in Toronto. |

If you cant see how Komi, Armstrong and connolly are horrible signings for the cost and output and how it has possibly had a negative affect on other movements....than you are at a lost. - Fakepartofme
other movements... like what? |

And you know of trades that were offered, like Crosby for Bozak, that were turned down because we didn't have cap space?
Lombardi makes $3.5 million against the cap. They could easily send him the the A.
Considering they ended up with over a million in excess cap space at the end of last year, that means they had $4.5 million to play with + whatever salary they could have sent the other way.
They made a pitch for Brad Richards. Cap space wasn't an issue. - Atomic Wedgie
Meh?
Run along little doggie.....run along. |

ugh.....we have at least 3 better goalies already. - Barx
If the Leafs have a goaltender on their wishlist, I can't help but assume that Mason is a possibility, especially after todays trade. Who knows with Burke? |

Nobody is arguing that they are great pieces to a Stanley Cup team.
But their salaries are irrelevant. MLSEL has the money. They don't have cap issues.
Hate them because they suck.
Don't hate them for their cap hit. |

If Burke has Mason anywhere near his 'wishlist' he should be fired immediately.

I have secretly assumed that if we get Nash, Howson would dump Mason on us as well so your suggestion is not far fetched AnnG...and he wouldn't be an upgrade, just temp NHL help/depth for Reimer/Scrivens |

Never know. He brought in Connolly as a stop gap to fill a role. Maybe he brings in Mason as one too. |

Exactly... my point is that one of the signings ended highly in our favour and it could help with getting Schultz too.
Two of the other signing... one for 2 years and is a stop gap, the other is purely hindsight... unless you're a great assessor of talent and you should be working in the NHL for a team as a scout.
Armstrong hasn't caused any problems because he's been hurt the whole time. |

But why would Mason be better than a Reimer/Scrivens tandem?
I'd rather just go with what we already have, thank you very much. |
