well considering he intends to sit the year out i'd say so - Dozzer
Don't think he wants to sit the year out. Think he just wants out of Boston. Would make a nice short term fix for the Leafs, except I doubt Chiarelli would trade him within the division |

Please do not write poop like this.
He hasn't played much because we don't want him to lose games single-handedly.
He's one of the worst contracts in the league. The sooner all Leafs fans admit it, the better.
Besides, when he's traded to Vancouver tonight, we don't want Canucks fans accusing us of only saying he sucks after he left the Leafs.
Now hear this, Canucks fans: Komi sucks. He sucks big time. And he will still suck when he sits in the pressbox for the Canucks this season. - Atomic Wedgie
This.
But he was an all-star in Montreal. ... and he does have game breaking ability.....
except of course its for the opposition. |

For sure....Aulie was the afterthought mentioned previously, and that's when Jamal Mayers (and someone else?) got thrown in going back as well |

CBJ sucks. In a Carlyle system, the Leafs will be far better defensively in front of him than CBJ was. - AnnGee44
got news for you--so do the Leafs.
Mason would be a stupid acquisition. Raycroft 2.0. why trade for an unproven goalie because you're unsatisfied with your 2 unproven goalies? |

Done just to (frank) the Canucks - Canada Cup
Not quite yet...it would totally if he hinted he might consider returning after the trade is completed. |

If you want another top 5 pick...sure put that crap between the pipes.
Leaf fans have gotten so use to losing with garbage players that they are now offering trades to pick up more bad players to continue losing.

They've financially handcuffed the team and they've all been absolute disasters except for Brown.
Connolly was just pure stupidity and desperation
Beach was good signing but didn't work out.
If you think Schultz is signing in Toronto because he is friends with Gardiner.....than you'll be disappointed.
Lup and Gard do not make up for the dumb signings Burke has done. - Fakepartofme
Handcuffed the team? Who else was there available, wanted to sign in Toronto and would have been an upgrade over Komi, Beau, Connolly and Armstrong at the time? Name some names if you can...
If Lupul has another PPG year and Gardiner plays like he did the 2nd half of the year for 5 more years. A mistake in Komi and Armstrong was well worth it taking up 7mil in CAP for four year, when they didn't even have CAP troubles during that time, is fine by me. Especially since they haven't even played much. |

He was never the same player after getting jacked by Lucic.
Markov covered up for him.
It was a stupid signing - made even more stupid by the fact that we jettisoned Kubina to make room.
Kubina was and is a better player than Komi.
The smart move would have been to keep Kubina, and let Montreal re-sign Komi, thereby weakening a divisional rival. - Atomic Wedgie
That would have been too smart of a move...Burke wouldn't have that....he had to make a "splash".....5 million for Komi....gawd...only the leafs. |

dude, please tell me your not 'that guy'.
the crappy player who plays beer league, but thinks the scouts are in the crowd, goes full tilt balls-out with reckless abandon with no skillset whatsoever.

If you cant see how Komi, Armstrong and connolly are horrible signings for the cost and output and how it has possibly had a negative affect on other movements....than you are at a lost. |

And you know all the moves that could have been made? - Fakepartofme
And you know of trades that were offered, like Crosby for Bozak, that were turned down because we didn't have cap space?
Lombardi makes $3.5 million against the cap. They could easily send him the the A.
Considering they ended up with over a million in excess cap space at the end of last year, that means they had $4.5 million to play with + whatever salary they could have sent the other way.
They made a pitch for Brad Richards. Cap space wasn't an issue. |

I do agree with letting Kubina go for penuts was not a smart move. But at the time.. Kubina for a return vs. Komi for free was probably their thought. Also Komi was a defensive dman vs. Kubina who's more offensive. However your prediction of Komi is hindsight.... you like everyone else didn't think he'd be this bad. Unless you did think he was going to be this bad and you're smarter then the Leafs brass at assessing talent.
