As for the Nash trade? Howson said no offers are close. They have a ways to go yet.

It might. That's not too bad.
- A_Tree

I find it hard to imagine that Ottawa would get Nash for a deal like that, yet other teams can't put something similar together.

Zabi's going to be a good piece. Bishop's decent, but is about as proven as Reimer or Scrivens, and Foligno's nothing special either.

That's like us offering Kadri, MacAurthur & Reimer.

Yet if we mention that trade to anyone you'd get a real laugh out of it

- declined recent invite to ballhockey starter position where he could have displayed his skills and made a name for himself in the league. Lacks drive.

Baseless?

I'm not concered with just raw talent. there are other intangibles that need to be addressed, and attitude is one of them

And he's not BIG, he's tall. whether or not he ends up filling out doesn't matter as he won't develop the willingness to actually use his size. He'll be like Ponikarosky with better hands

A Franson or 35th overall pick could also be considered a decent asset.

I've always thrown out

Kadri
Komi
35th

As much as Canuck fans like to make fun of Leafs for thinking Kadri+Schenn is enough to get anyone, they're going to be crying their hearts out when they realize they get little for a top notch 'tender that they were responsible for running out of town.

And for what it's worth I think Kadri on a like with Kesler and Kassian would be very respectable

#NHL *Rumor*- According to various reports, #Sens now front runners for #CBJ Nash. Latest offer was, B.Bishop, N. Foligno, M.Zibanejad.

Doubt that gets you Nash.

- jbold

Even if it did, I'm happy to hear names like those mentioned already... Starts cutting down their cup window significantly, as they're trading some key youngsters going forward... could end up with them trading Zibs and Cowen, and having their most valuable forwards approaching 30

Just about everything went right for them this year, and they didn't get very far with that... chances of Mikhalek repeating, and Spezza staying healthy are pretty low... and when you consider Alfy may not come back, and the possibility that Karlsson doesn't keep up his near-ppg pace.... they really should be committing to the rebuild, and not trading for older, expensive, players.

So, yea, I'd like to see that trade.

I wouldn't do it... Luongo isn't reliable in the playoffs, and we still haven't seen what Kadri can do... take out the 2nd, and I still wouldn't do it.

I'm not even that opposed to trading Kadri, because he doesn't seem like a guy who'd thrive with Carlyle... but I'd rather trade him for a forward, or a first.

With Philip on his way down and Rundblad going to PHX, they're not trading Cowen

He won't thrive under Carlyle, and we have seen what he can do. The guy's missed the opportunity to make the team and earn a solid position on numerous occasions, and this is a team that isn't bursting with competition for top 6 spots.

Kadri won't make it happen here. As for Luongo, Luongo came within one win of the cup. The fact is that the team in front of him basically shat the bed.

Bruce Locke G Age 35

Hasnt even played in almost 15 years, is likely drunk or hopped up on way too much coffee. Loses his gear frequentley. Forget puking, he would likely die if put through V02 Max Test. Great in the room.

Andrew Gluck, F, age 23

Can skate pretty fast, and doesn't stop unless he hits someone(or something, or trips on his laces)... combined with his size has the makings of a good checker. Thick skull provides great protection in fights. Can bring baklava to the room. Knows some guys who can get you stuff.
