How the heck are the Pens going to unload Martin and his rediculous salary?

Hypothetically:

Preds - Schenn, JVR, 2 protected firsts.

Flyers - Weber

I realize Staal didn't want to remain in Pittsburgh, but losing him hurts the Penguins significantly. Great faceoff guy, their best defensive forward by a wide margin, as well as being a threat offensively. Shero did will with the return given the circumstances, but make no mistake this is a big blow to the Penguins.

sutter is no slouch and the pens now have cap room to add a major talent.

The Pens want to add Suter.
- stveshdy

Remember Suter doesn't want to play on the East Coast right? Those were the reports.

Parise should make up the difference nicely.
- 77rams

It's hardly a foregone conclusion Parise ends up in Pittsburgh. In fact I would say him remaining in NJ, or signing in Detroit are much more likely.

You never know. Maybe he changes his mind to play with Malkin and Crosby.

True, but he basically said he didn't want to play in Eastern Conference.

Well Flyers fans who thought Carle at 5M, makes much more sense than Suter at 7M, should embrace Suter landing in Pittsburgh.

I'm so confused.

Detroit has between 20-25 million under the cap. They could easily sign Parise and Suter. I think there is a good chance they do.

Easy. Float him to a team near the cap floor for a late round pick.

Has to be a somewhat desirable location though so Martin waives his NMC

I liked the deal he made for Bobrovsky, didn't understand the first round pick at all, but what do I know, Flyers scouts certainly know more than I do. I haven't even seen the kid play.

I really expect it to be with Nashville. Homer and Poile have done many deals over the last couple of years. If Schenn is available now, I think a Weber deal can now be finished, just my opinion.

After all of the build up today was pretty anti-climatic. I dont believe the Flyers PR for one second though about Homers comments "somethings cooking". He's so secretive you know that he was trying to keep it hush hush and the press off his back. I really do believe it is Weber he's trying to get.
