Looks like Bobrovsky is on the way to Columbus, per Dreger... More to come.

Yea I can name you the Flyers lineup too.  As much as I love Hartnell's season last year, it's tough to see him repeating that.  Bottom line, you put Bobby Ryan or Rick Nash together with Giroux and you have something special (most likely 40 plus goals from one of them IMO).  Hartnell and Giroux?  Good.  Really good.  But not as good as Ryan/Nash.
Ok the Flyers don't need Luke Schenn, but they sure could use him or someone like him.  Grossman is physical but who else is?  (crickets)  I agree they also need a puck moving defenseman that can get the puck up the ice and one that can run the PP as well.  Which is why Garrison is my first choice for defenseman this offseason.   Wideman is a great choice as well.  But the Flyers lost to the Devils because their defenseman got pounded in the corners, murdered on the cycle and got worn down because of it.  A guy like Luke Schenn would have helped as well as a guy that could have got the puck up the ice to the forwards with a good outlet pass or a decent clear.  Yes the Flyers need a puck moving defenseman, but they need a physical one just as bad.

Tony I completely disagree man...

Luke Schenn is the last thing that would have helped in that Devils series.. He isnt great with the puck.. coughs it up when pressured, and although he does hit a lot.. he tends to over commit and leaves openings all over the place.

We have slew of guys who are capable of playing physical on the back end.. Coburn, Meszy, Grossmann, MaB is capable of physical play..

would I like to have a guy who kills people on the back end? yes.. but it would be a novelty to be honest.. We need a guys who can move the puck, and bring some offense..

Who else is physical? Coburn, Grossmann, and Meszaros. Luke Schenn wouldn't have made a bit of difference in the NJ Series. They don't need a defenseman like Schenn. They have that already in Grossmann, Coburn, and Meszaros. It's about the mix you have. And with Timonen aging and Pronger being done, they need a top defenseman. Not a Luke Schenn.
- MJL

I bet you Schenn would have helped against the Devils.  Not saying he would have changed the outcome, but he could have helped.  Coburn, Meszaros and even Grossman aren't even anywhere near as physical as Luke Schenn.  He led the league in hits by a defenseman.  And he's only 22.  You're also misunderstanding me here.  I'm not saying Luke Schenn is a number one defenseman by any stretch of the imagination.  He by himself is not the answer.  The only true number one defenseman on the market this year is Suter.  But he can only play for one team and I'm not sold that he is a franchise defenseman either.  But getting Luke Schenn PLUS another defenseman would possibly solve their defensive woes.  Like I said 4 times already Garrison is the guy I want the most.  But just one guy is not the answer this offseason.

Doesn't look like Bobrovsky deal is done, yet, also, this leads to something much bigger I do think.

Oh dont get me wrong I love guys who can bring the pain, but like you said the Flyers have those guys. There's other aspects of the game and unfortunately I feel as though 70% of Flyers fans don't get that. They remember the BST bullies and think....

I like Bob, and I want him to be successful in the league. The kid can play a little bit, and can be more than serviceable in this league. He's paid his dues.

I think you are overvaluing Suter and Schenn.

Schenn can hit.. wont disagree with that.. But there is a lot more to being a physical d-man than throwing a lot of hits. Grossmann shuts players down. You know, a lot of credit was given to Coots for shutting down Malkin.. but I think people need to realize how good Coburn and Grossmann were there.. Grossmann swallows guys.. completely ends rushes. On top of it, he is very conservative with it to.. not getting caught out of position routinely.
