by any chance do the devils trade parise's rights, before talking to their captain? - dmarsden2988
Do you honestly believe that there have been no discussions? I realize your defensive nature on this subject, but absolutely no GM would leave a contract negotiation of this magnitude to the last week of free agency. Last year, maybe the internet was on the fritz, and the two parties didn't have the ability to log onto CAPGEEK in order to determine the financial structure of a long-term deal, so they decided on a one year deal that happened to take him to free agency? What a coincidence.
I don't care who says what. Lou could tell my mom that he is locked down, but I would still think that kid is going to jump into the UFA waters.
I just hope the Kings don't fork over the dough he will demand.

Ek you (frank)ing donk! If and that's a big if Yandle was available don't you think maybe 1 or 2 other teams would have interest as well? (frank) I feel sorry for you. - whipper334
i guess you just missed ek's speech, your totally (frank)ed now dude
Funny, the Heat just won the championship but there is hardly any passion and emotion going through the players and the fans. I don't think there is any other sport in the world that has more passion and love for the game than hockey - OilerFanFromBC
It's tough to get excited about a sport that is so clearly rigged on many different levels. Fortunately the NHL isn't that way.

it is well known that Lou doesnt talk contracts during the season, the season ended 10days ago, and your not going to get down to contract talks the next day or 2 after you lose in the finals, you let the player take a day or 2 to cool the emotions, and lou still had to do other parts of his job such as end of year review, exit interviews and prep for the draft and so on, Lou, Parise and his agent have all said that no contract talks have started but they will informally talk tomorrow and after the draft they will sit down and formally talk about the contract
there is no reason not to believe that when you look at lou's past contract dealings
is that really the way to treat your readers? calling them idiots
- dmarsden2988
I'm also disappointed. Life's too short man, no worries. I just thought it was ironic how both were posted within an hour. Instead of calling me an idiot he should explain why this happened? Perhaps the same source?
Damn near every team would be interested in Yandle. The question is why are they so keen to dump him (the 2nd time he's rumoured to be in play) after just signing a new contract with him? - AlexF
Nothing is fishy. It's simple really. There are 3 options:
1. Sign him to a 1 year deal and trade him during the year
2. Sign him to a 1 year deal and let him walk
3. Trade him now for maximum value
Carolina has some decent players that could help the Penguins. Brandon Sutter would slot in very nicely as the Pens 3rd line centre. - hertzman
it's fishy because something like this got out. Shero is probably one of the most secretive GMs in the league. those blockbuster deals that have happened for the penguins (neal, kunitz, hossa), you didnt hear a word about until after they happened.
it's just fishy that something as simple as a contract offer gets released by TSN.
to me, it sounds like Shero is preparing Pens fans for the Staal trade.

He's clearly very sensitive to that kind of talk. And for good reason.
I just hope I'm not banned for asking him why he'd set an alarm when it's 1am on the west coast and 4am out east.
If you think I am simply reading twitter and mimicking to you then leave. i made a name for myself before twitter. I think it is a great tool, I am thankful that over 121k people choose to follow me and find my opinion worth their time...but Why would i go to twitter when I have over 300 phone numbers of the GMs, players, owners, agents, etc..? - Eklund

You assume it came from Shero. It may well have come from the Staal camp.

its a legitimate question, since in the past he has said he has been 1st to report, but for the site owner to call people idiots just because they question him is well somewhat childish

How do you suppose I would know how a person who I am not is posting about the same player I am posting about? I am not omnipresent...I didn't call you an idiot and I didn't ban you.
i don't call my readers idiots, because the idiots on here don't call themselves my readers either. They post in the forums about how they dont bother to read the blogs all the time...and it's all cool. Just be respectful.

You made this up. JK. - sloppyseconds2
it was funny seeing all these colorado fans jumping in and making it seem like the devils fans are stupid because lou just cant get a deal done etc and when we said look at lou's contract history and his principles and so on and so forth they kept trying to tell us how lou works without them knowing how lou works

The only thing that gets to me is that he claims to not follow other media people because it gets in the way of his writing.. yet he follows every single media person in every sport possible including players.. a lot of different verified users... including other celebrities... but looking thru his twitter... I can't see one verified user thats following him. He has hundreds of numbers on his cell phone of players, agents and GMs yet none of them want to follow him back on twitter? Weird....
