i have a feeling we're stuck with Ville or he'll get the Kotalik treatment if his production stays the same
- EricNearBuffalo

Isn't the NHL trying to stop the kotalik treatment from teams?

I keep seeing Roy & Sekera in trade offers - Roy makes 5.5 this year and Sekera 3.25, that's a lot of real dollars for the other team to pickup....

I think Darcy should take a run at JvR

By team here are the players that I would have interest in thjat might be available:
Anaheim
Getzlaf, Ryan Hiller, Lydman
Brookbank is a UFA, that would adequately replace Weber if he were traded;

Boston
Zanon also UFA, that would replace Weber

Calgary
Oli Jokinnen UFA - a player who changed his ways and would be a good influence on Armia if he actually makes it to market
Curtis Glencross (Iginla is too old)
Sarich a UFA to replace Weber
Lee Stempniak UFA - good value possible based on career, good winger for 3rd line, hits and kills penalties...holds the fort until Armia is ready

Chicago
Kane - possibly available, but seems to carry a lot more baggage than roy and Connolly combined
Boland - nice center, but Chicago needs centers
Hjalmarsson - might be available in a trade for someone like Roy
Beech - tough prospect
McNeil- big center with potential

Carolina
Eric Staal - for obvious reasons
Spacek - to help for year until yougsters are read

I will comment on the rest tomorrow, system too slow today!

There is no chance the Penguins will take Roy, Sekera and picks...

but how the hell are we going to be able to trade for Stamkos after all of those moves?

Why? If the picks are the 1st "12" and the 2nd rounder why not? Roy isn't that bad and they would be upgrading on D with Sekera IMO.

Because Derek Roy who has over 400 career points and is only 28 is worthless thanks to Darcy, he should have been traded last offseason when he was worth something, now every team knows we want him gone so he wont get much of a return.

Conditional 2nd rounder. If he scores 70 goals it turns into a 1st

I don't know Sekera well - but Pittsburgh would have a D salary approaching Toronto , use up an additional 3 million in cap space (and 5 million in cash), and Roy isn't exactly your prototypical 3rd C.
Those picks might be enough to convince them, but it doesn't strike me as a good deal

Yea Roy is the perfect 2nd line center which pits already has.

Roy gets a bad rep here in buffalo and a change of scenery would do him wonders. I mean he has a couple seasons with 70+ pts plus he isn't that old

And - Not to burst the bubble of all of us dreaming about new trade scenarios for Jordan Staal, but there might be some reasons for him turning down the extension that don't relate to certainly leaving after this year.
Off the top of my head:
1) Wait for the new CBA so his salary doesnt get rolled back
2) 10 year deal without a no-trade, doesn;t want to get Jeff Carter'd after signing

He played 35 games the season before last and was still recovering from a severe torn quad injury. He wasn't worth a lot last summer. The Sabres reportedly have tried to trade him for the last two years.

Or the fact that Schenn and Kadri isn't the end all be all.

The Canadiens offered Ryder, Halak, and a 2nd from what I hear afterall.
