Bobrovsky could be a good goalie, but he needs a special kind of environment and I don't know that Columbus is going to be able to do that for him. He's still learning his way and has confidence issues because Laviolette may be the only coach that has more trouble with managing his goaltenders than Lindy Ruff.
- HonkFortheGoose

And yet...for all that...his playoff record is very good. Both series' he's faced the Sabres, he's pulled his goaltender at least 3 times, and won them both. It's not conventional, but I'm not so sure what Laviollette does with his goaltenders is so bad. It works for him more often than not.

It may work for him, but it's not really working for them. Ward has pretty much been a mess during the regular season. It's been said that Bobrovsky has confidence issues, Leighton went AWOL. Boucher was probably the only one that didn't freak out in some way. I don't remember if Bryz got pulled at all this year during the playoffs, but he certainly didn't have the best playoffs. Yes, they beat Pittsburgh, but only because Fleury was worse than Bryz was.

bobrovsky would thrive in a system setting

like boston, phoenix, blues etc

now he is on a one way track to the KHL in 12 months

yep

I guarantee he could have gotten luongo for a similar price

instead he went from the having the goalie with the 42nd best save % to the goalie with the 41st and 42nd best save %

well...good luck in C-Bus, Bobz. your career will never be the same.

well when that franchise folds after this year... they will just take all of their players and do a fantasy draft with the rest of the league...

It'll move before it just folds. It's a shame that things are so bad there. It's a great arena and the area around it is super nice as well. They have good fans, but who really wants to pay to see garbage year after year?

another stupid trade for the blue jackets

You think? I feel like Philly really ruined Bob. He's still pretty young and could still pan out.

I know they will move.. i was just joking..

they only reason why the all-star festivities are there is to try to save it slightly..

CLB will probably go to Hamilton or Quebec.

In the right environment. I don't believe Columbus is going to be the type that can "fix" him at this point. They already managed to ruin a goalie of their own.

c-bus has a good, solid following and a pretty good commitment from ownership...they've been mismanaged in the hockey department for sometime...that's why they brought in craig patrick...

will he be the solution? *shrugs*

Pysyk is more of a 2 way guy than jgl is though. Plus, they'd like to have a right and left on each pairing. Darcy has said it before. If they managed to get Schultz then maybe they would move Pysyk, but as of right now, I think they have plans for him within the organization.

i don't disagree with you one bit...but...

i really believe if there ever was a time to snag a top-two prospect, now's the time and i also believe that either mcnabb or pysyk would need to be included in the package...after all, ryan murray is said to be nhl-ready

one way to ensure that your franchise continues to fail is to overpay for a goalie that has not ever played one full season at above average... Bob shoudl get nothing higher than a 3rd rounder so if that is true the 3 picks better be a 5th, 6th and 7th rounder

Wikipedia has some of the best pictures of people as their profile pictures...

I didn't realize that Pysyk is only 170 lbs... he has some MAJOR weight to put on if he is gonna have any longevity in the NHL has a defensive d-man.

If we are trading up for an NHL ready prospect... it is not a defensemen that we need to get...

We need to get the next sidney crosby, evgeni malkin, steven stamkos, john tavares type player.

You won't find those in this draft Vince.

The only guy I would even try to trade up for is Faksa.

He can play 3rd line center right now and do very well.
Ask Huddle.

as pointed out, every pick that they gave up were extra from trades...

i believe the odds of a second-rounder making it is like 15 or 20-1 (if somebody has that info feel free to post it,) fourth-rounders are worse

The overall point is how bad Bob is as a goalie, or should I say how mediocre.
