Burke has Gillis Bent over his knee and driving the price so low that, He may just have to throw in the Sedin sisters just to take Luongo

You'd think that they would would rather make a big offer for Schneider. Imagine how shocked everyone would be if Schneider's the one who gets dealt tomorrow. - Nucker101
Getting a proven #1 locked up for that long would be a great move for that franchise. Lu to CBJ makes the most sense in my mind. The question is whether Lu would waive to go there but he may not have a choice in the end. |

Every fan base has its idiots, it's ridiculous how people keep judging every team's fans just because of a few immature trolls and clowns.
Not all Canucks fans are expecting Lu to be moved for Gardiner and the 5th.
Not all Leafs fans are expecting to get Luongo for Komisarek and a 5th. |

I don't factor what Howson wants into Nash's actual value. Howson is insane to ask what he is asking for a highly overpaid, one-dimensional forward. I would rather have JVR. - Fosco
really? so far jvr playing on really good flyers teams has only been able to collect a career high of 21 goals in 2010-11. Rick Nash playing on terrible blue jacket team scored 41 goals in his 2nd season in the nhl. Down the road when jvr hits his prime he might be better. but for 4.25 million he better be able score 25 plus goals. So far jvr hasn't been able to do that. |

No coincidence that the comments came from one of them and then the other one can't resist quoting.
If a Leafs fan did something comparable you know people would be all over them also. - GoneFullRetard
You and I have had some good conversations, even though we differ in opinion, so does that qualify as "typical Vancouver fan class?" If somebody says something stupid, it comes from an individual, not a fanbase. |

My gut says Galy, but Im hoping its Murray or even Forsberg...only cause I want Montreal to take Galy 3rd.
The big question is who does Montreal take 3rd if Galy is gone? Bergevin said today that they will take the best player available, thats open to debate at 3, I say they go with Forsberg only cause I dont think they want to draft a d man unless he's too good to pass up. - DeathStar
I think so too. They take Murray. Montreal takes Galy. I think that will leave my leafs with Forsberg cause I think Isles take a dman as many are predicting. Plus I agree they should with lots of good choice after Murray. |

I think lou goes to the sharks, maybe for patty. I really don't think nucks fans will agree with that? But at this point beggars cant be choosers. Lou goes to the sharks, and the leafs loose out on a big name player. again. |

Here's the thing. Unless he's going to start putting up 85-90 points a year, he isn't worth that contract. He could play very well, go to another team, and put up his career 65-70 points a year, but he would be underperforming his contract. - Moshe52792
You probably aren't aware of this, but he's a point per game player in international competition. It's not unreasonable to believe that he can also be a point per game player in the NHL if he has skilled linemates instead of what Columbus has been giving him. Depending on where he goes I could see him scoring 80+ points per season.
Considering the other players who seem to be available, why would I team want to give up two top 6 forwards and two first round picks, - Moshe52792
You've been listening to Eklund too long. Here's a quote from someone who is a little closer to the discussions:
"Portzline: What they're asking for differs from team to team, depending on what that club has to offer. Don't believe reports that say the Blue Jackets have a cookie cutter demand -- two players, two prospects and a first-round pick -- they're going after with each club. Not true. "
Who does everyone think Columbus takes at 2. Galy or Murray. - D.Lemieux
Neither. They're trading down, probably to take Forsberg.

forsberg not getting past the top 5, so if the jackets want him they better draft him 2nd overall. |

Just saying, none of us were expecting Hodgson for Kassian and MG likes to hold his cards close to his chest. The Lu to TOR deal might seem like the obvious one, but I would't be surprised if it doesn't happen. |

Nash has regressed almost every year since then, and makes an absolutely ridiculous $7.8 million/season. JVR is only 23, has shown signs of improvement, despite some injury troubles, and is signed at a reasonable cap hit for six more years.
If the trade goes down, I would expect it to be more than just JVR, but not JVR, two firsts, and a decent goalie prospect. Taking JVR over Nash is just my own opinion. I'm aware he has less trade value.
edit: and I don't buy the whole bad linemates stuff with Nash. He's played with some quality players. Maybe not all first liners, but guys good enough that he shouldn't have diminishing point totals year after year. |
