I like the Canucks and I think you're over valuing him.
I would take only one of either a 1st round pick, a prospect or a solid roster player for Luongo.

starting goalies are given away the majority of the time. Exclude the Lehtonen trade. Atlanta really got hosed.

yea, im not talking about scott gomez going back. i'm saying someone like colby armstrong, scotty upshall, etc.

and yes, the canucks need someone like armstrong. they are one of the softest teams in the league, and if gillis doesnt do something about that they wont stand a chance in the playoffs.

- sensnucksnocups

Didn't they make it to game 7 of the Finals as being one of the softest teams? Seemed to work alright for them then.

Pretty sure the Argos have the most Grey cups of all time bud. The CFL is unwatchable has nothing to do with how toronto's team is doing

they won't trade another top 10 pick. but do you honestly think an all star goalie is not worth a 1st round pick, a roster player and a prospect?
- tomburton99

not when the all star goalie is luongo. he's labelled as a playoff choker, has a contract that is tough to swallow, and the nucks dont have leverage when dealing him. everyone knows they want to move him, so it's only a matter of time. the time to move luongo for max return is long gone.

+ I bet... Getzlaf would be the best player to have played there in 15+ years...no way he goes for just a 3rd pairing D-man and a player that may or may not be an impact player in the NHL in the future...

Not at 3 mil dollars . Volpatti and Lapierre are a 1/3 rd of the price. Lapierre fights now.

and look what happened when they faced a physical team like the bruins.

they barely squeaked by the hawks, and they dived and embellished their way past the preds and sharks.

Colorado got hosed acquiring what they thought was one, but I think the biggest hosing was done by St.Louis for Halak

That's just stupid...Burke's asking price on any decent player he gets rid of is a roster player, good prospect and first rounder.... Now why should he not be expected to pay the same for a good player coming to his team?

lapierre is a bum, please dont tell me you actually respect that guy. anyways, not every piece you're getting from luongo is going to be amazing, there is definitely gonna be a bad salary coming back.

TSN today had an interview with Brian Burke, and James Dutchie asked him to confirm that the Leafs have not traded their 5th to Buffalo for the 12th. Brian Burke just looked over and smiled.

James looked at him and said "So this is how this is going to go"

I really don't know why any GM does interviews at this time of the year. They all absolutely refuse to say anything.

They got to game 7 against the big, bad Bruins. Not bad for the softest team in the league. If you're honestly gonna try tell me they "dived" their way through tough series against the Preds and the Sharks then you should really think about your argument before carrying on.

im not expecting a vancouver fan to believe me, i can easily post links to youtube videos of kesler, lapierre etc diving all over the ice.

there is a reason why all of canada wanted vancouver to lose against the bruins. go on, tell me why? because we're jealous? no, every cheered for edmonton and calgary and even the sens when they made the final. the canucks played with very little class (and to be fair it wasnt all of them), and the WORST part is, they had all the skill and could easily have made it to the final, but they chose to embellish to draw calls. pathetic.

Vancouver Sportstalk radio reporting Vancouver has a multi-player deal in place with Columbus involving Luongo and Nash but Nash needs to okay it. Luongo has already agreed to waive his NTC to become a BJ!
