Nash/agent are meeting with Howsen this afternoon, we will find out afterwards. Sens-Jackets have had serious talks. - Cup 06
Big question is who's calling the meeting. Is Resnick telling Howson to get on it and make a trade, or does Howson have an offer that he likes from a team that isn't "on the list". I've gotta believe that some teams were planning to include a first round pick in their offer, so they've got to make it happen pretty quick. Otherwise they'll be trading roster players (aka, real money) as opposed to "a chance to draft a hopeful prospect" (aka, funny money).

But can you even name another columbus forward? I think he will do great somewhere else. - Oilfan19
Totally...but why would that make Nash more expensive? Frig even Kessel has now scored more points than Nash and his centre was Bozak |

Howson is drunk. He wanted our first and Eberle for the 2nd... - Oilfan19

so to trade down, you have to give up Eberle? That's awesome |

I like how the 2nd overall costs twice as much as the 1st overall... - Big_Lightnin
Colbourne is very close to NHL ready, and projects as a very good all-around #2 C/W with size in the mold of Getzlaff...those are VERY tough to come by and consequently are VERY valuable. He's worth a top 5-10 pick this year. Basically, it's like trading two picks in 5-10 for the #1. That's a pretty hefty price I think. |

This just in. Toronto Maple Leafs are in on, Rick Nash, Roberto Luongo, Zach Parise, Wayne Gretzky, all first 10 picks of the draft, Ken Holland, Katy Perry, the bull pen of the Altanta Braves, Tiger Wood's wife's golf clubs, and Jesus's only living heir. (E4)
stay tuned - T_Cane0
The deal would not go through, as Katty Perry would refuse to waive her NTC, |

It sounds like Howsons been ignoring the list for quite awhile now, so I bet he's trying to see if he's open to some teams not on it.
Either that or he's just kept it guarded enough that he can play teams off each other and get the best offer |

If Colborne is all those things, why the hell are we trading him for Yakupov, who is at best a younger russianer Kessel with a bit more defensive game (maybe)

I am betting that Burke will do the following 3 things. Every other rumor is trash:
1. Trade for a goalie, there is no way that he will go into this season with Reimer and Scrivens. NO WAY. If he does, waffle nation will return along with a new 'fire burke' chant' at the ACC. Luongo is the first choice.
2. Attempt to sign Parise. Unless Parise wants to return to NJ (and why wouldn't he after going to the finals?) I believe that Burke will push hard for the AMERICAN, possibly trading for Parise's rights before July 1st.
3. Keep the number 5 draft pick...
If burke doesn't do these 3 things, I will be suprised and totally disillusioned... |

I think Howson is going to hang Nash out like he did at the trade deadline. Howson will get a great deal from a team that is not on the list, and tell the media that Nash nixed the deal, and let the media crap on Nash. |
