"I have had at least three sources today inform me that Toronto is talking about Nash and Luongo and moving up in the draft, while all along getting closer and closer to obtaining Parise's rights...stay tuned."
Are you seriously trying to suggest that the Leafs are looking at Nash AND Luongo, AND moving up in the draft AND obtaining Parise's rights?
Where, pray tell, are all these assets coming from?
Also, you forgot Bobby Ryan. - hemlock34
Burke has cloned himself, he is all over the place at one time. Each clone still looks pissed off. |

Toronto trying to swing a deal for Yaks...possible...cost? hmmm...
(1) 5th + Colbourne + 3rd rnd <-> 1st overall + Belanger + Omark?
Then, they try to swing:
(2) Schenn + Kadri + Omark + Rynnas + Kulemin <-> CLB: 2nd overall + 3rd in 2013
(1): EDM gets a possible future #2 C with size, and the 5th overall pick to snag Reinhart or Murray. They also unload an unhappy Belanger and Omark. TOR gets Yaks some grit/faceoff.
(2): CLB: Gets a good young D, possible future #2 C, possible #1 G, very good top-6 2-way winger as well as potential in Omark. They trade what could be a top flight player, but get lots of talent in return.
Just a thought, as I see the HUGE potential for TOR to swing something like this given Burke's history.

The buzz in Pittsburgh so far. The Ottawa Senators are serious players in the Rick Nash sweepstakes. Might be between OTT, PHI and NYR.

and Jeff Finger - acresd
Finger's rights are a hot commodoty right now. Once July 1st hits, he's on the open market and 29 teams can vie for his services. Who's gonna step up and pay the piper for a crack at signing him early?

Burke is a busy man. Hes also trying to acquire a KHL team. - Oilfan19
No wonder he's always got that "down to business" loose tie look going.
Phew. He's making me tired just thinking about how busy he is. |

TRY to swing that eh?? Sure they shouldn't add 4 or 5 more pieces to it?

Hate to state the obvious, but for what it's worth, I have been able to confirm that the Rick Nash saga IS what is holding up the market. |

He also wanted to swing a deal for the first overall to get John Tavares. IMO,if he acquires the first overall pick, it's because he overpaid. Plain and simple.

Minny, Carolina: JVR and the 20th overall pick can be yours for your 6th or 7th overall picks.
Flyers then draft Reinhart. - FLYERSROCK!
Both those teams would trade the 6th pick for JVR and the 20th in a heartbeat!!!
Especially since the 6th pick belongs to Anaheim....... |

If Edmonton is going to deal the top pick its going to be to Columbus or Montreal... possibly Islanders if they feel Murray would make it to 4.
Getting a decent prospect plus that pick would probably be the only deal that would make sense... if Edmonton can come out of the draft with 2 top 4 Dman (potential) for the 1st overall.. I think they would be very very happy |
