then when/if parise re-signs people will say its a bad choice etc |

A lot of GMs are nowadays. I'm sure the NHLPA will address this issue in the next CBA because player movement is essential to healthy markets for players and their salaries.
Not that this would ever happen, but dropping the UFA age to 24, in conjunction with the salary cap, will definitely get GMs thinking more on their feet, and they will be trading more to hedge on the talents they perceive their prospects to have.

He's the top UFA and july first is in a few days. So of course, everybody will talk about Parise. Even if Lou always deal with his ufas after the draft.
That said I hope for the Devils he will stay there. One of the best winger in the league. If not the best.

EK if that Parise paragraph you wrote comes true I'll buy a season ticket. Never in a million years could the Leafs get Parise, Luongo, Nash, and the first overall pick in the draft in the same offseason.
