A lot of GMs are nowadays. I'm sure the NHLPA will address this issue in the next CBA because player movement is essential to healthy markets for players and their salaries.

Not that this would ever happen, but dropping the UFA age to 24, in conjunction with the salary cap, will definitely get GMs thinking more on their feet, and they will be trading more to hedge on the talents they perceive their prospects to have.

Schultz is not under contract with the leafs. He has no leverage in the deal. Gardiner + #5 for #1 is the deal
