Yes that makes sense of course. Price is from out West I can seeing him going to EDM it makes sense for what they need. Arbitration never goes smoothly I just can't see this being worked out in Carey's favour....I have a feeling we could loose him. Staal would be a great fit for us and here's hoping we can get Parenteau too!

After what he's already gone through in Montreal, I'll be surprised if he decides to stay long term, unless the money is too good to pass up.

There was a time I was convinced it wasn't going to go well for him in Montreal and that he would leave and go west, maybe he will who knows?

When the whole Halak v Price wars were raging I thought he was a goner, they have nothing to fall back on now.

Cap complications isnt the reason the deal was rejected. Jeff Finger, currently in the AHL was not included in the deal, thus causing a problem.

I fail to see how that would improve EDM's chances for winning long-term. They still would have questions about size, #2 C and top-flight D. Do you propose an alternative, quality, idea to address the actual issues?

Gags is a great 2nd line center. Plenty of D prospects that are looking good. Yeah we need size but not Colbourne

Forsberg? Meh, I'm not sold. Then again, Crosby and Malkin can make a scorer out of Pascal Dupuis, so who knows....

Isnt it weird that Anaheim never even ended up keeping ANY of those 3 draft picks they got for that Penner offer sheet.

In other news... those picks landed Myers, Hamonic and Petrov. I wonder if Edmonton would be better off with those picks than Penner.

No no. Since Toronto is the centre of the Universe (hockey or otherwise), each team can stay where they are, but only if they agree to forfeit $2 in cap space each to Burke and Co. That way, TO has the room to bring in MOST of the hometown guys who "really want to play there!"

EDIT: I guess I should clarify that I meant $2 million in cap space, not $2.

I wish we would hear some news about a trade or something this waiting is so irritating!!
