My gut feeling is their gonna keep the 4th pick and then trade up to the mid teens as well. Just like the JT year.

If they go with a forward with the 4th pick, and a guy like Dumba or Reinhart falls (ala Cam Fowler), I can see this scenario playing out.

For the love of god do not trade this 4th pick Garth.. The return will not be good enough. Also, do not take the small finnish forward as I already can see you doing that
Ryan Murray or die.

What is this trading pa rights fantasy land. Free agency sort July 1st. Pa wants to test waters as Ufa. No one going to wt to negotiate ith him before hand.
If edm skipped over nail, They would be morons.

There is no way nail falls to us at 4. That would be Christmas.

Isles want Murray. Other than that u tie galyunek or forsberg.

I see snow trading pick if Murray not available For an impact NHL player

U can get a reinhart, dumba type player later in 1st round or in2nd.

Isles should sign Dennis widemen to deal. [/img]

Recent history has definitely shown if Snow's guy is off the board, they would trade the pick.

I think he just wants the deal he tried to get out of the Isles, not necessarily to test UFA. If some team's willing to pony up the 5 years and whatever millions he's looking for, it makes sense for them to try to get ahead of the pack. Buffalo was willing to pay a king's ransom for Ehrhoff, but recognized that they probably weren't going to be on his short list of teams, so they traded for his rights to get a head start. Same with Columbus and Wiz. I think every team that traded for rights last year landed the player except the Isles/Ehrhoff (no one flip out, please, I'm not saying that's a bad thing considering what he got, just pointing out that trading for rights, if you're willing to blow the player away, can work and does give you a bit of a head start).

I wouldn't expect anything significant in exchange. Maybe a fourth or fifth rounder? Something's better than nothing though, if there's any interest.

If there is a chance to move up late in the 1st rd. From the 2nd rd. I'd take Dalton Thrower. Similar to Dumba. Physical, nasty, and more filled out. Doesnt have the Offensive upside that Dumba has but he will be a good physical NHL "D" man with some offense.
