You can bet Staal won't be traded for just picks... Shero would just roll the dice this season and see if they can win a cup and lose him for nothing. Dont rule out a shorter extension, I can see a 3-5 year deal happening, he just doesnt deserve anymore than 6 mil, which I think is a generous payment.

Not much you can do if the guy wants to play with his brother. No doubt they're talking it through now but if Staal's position is, "I want to play in CAR, simple as that," Shero's only call would be roll Staal for a last season or if a decent offer comes that he thinks is more valuable than another season of Staal he'd take that. There's always some stupid team that'll give some assets for the guy even for 1 season.

I don't think Nash is worth his salary and CHI wouldn't give up Hossa for Lu. Still, we'd definitely improve with Nash so if that's what comes back, so be it. I think we'd need to send more than just Luongo to CLS though.

Hossa is pretty much a Set in stone RW'er (minus the PP) thats why him and Kane were never on the same line until Kane moved to center as Kane is a stubborn Rightsider as well.

If I were Vancouver and I could snag the 2nd pick overall I would be doing some serious wheeling and dealing, Canucks could trade down and walk out of the draft with 2 very good players within the top 10 after some trades.

*Edit* You could hold MTL hostage by picking Galchenyuk or at least swapping with them and maybe snagging Tinordi off of them with some other pieces most likely
