@1616tony As of now i am hearing (Nothing confirmed) a Goalie coming back from Leafs + Gardiner or Schenn +Other parts involved on both ends

Discuss......Reimer? Scrivens?

- chompsey

We'd want a goalie coming back why exactly? All sounds like another BS post but I'd be happy to see Schenn or Gardiner coming back as part of the deal.

Scrivens isn't going anywhere. If Lu goes to TO then Scrivens will backup Lu. It would be Reimer or the monster. If it's true it will be the monster.
To be honest i don't want any TO goalie.

I feel your frustration but even worse, I'm starting to think there are no trades in store. If something was done and dusted it would be announced. There are no excuses left and no hold-ups.

I get a kick out of reading the Toronto media spewing the "Burke has the upper hand on Gillis" propaganda....its ridiculous.....

Once they finally announce the deal *allegedly* for Luongo, what do you think Schneider will really sign for? 4 years 16 mill 2.5/3.5/4.5/5.5... Bonus up front (in case of work stoppage), same $ across the board, longer term, shorter term?

Yeah, it just depends on where Burke's lower hand is, I'm guessing under the desk stroking MG's ego.

It really depends the term and nature of the discussion. Gillis has gotten so many players to sign for less than market value.

I'm guessing between 3.5-4M for around 5-6 years.

Do you think Schneider will be willing to sign for that long a term? I would think he would want a shorter deal so he becomes UFA sooner, or at least can sign a longer term extension prior to UFA. If he is as good as advertised as a starter, he'll be worth Rinne $ in a couple years no?

That's rather harsh tweating Luongo directly to hurry up and leave town.

$1.8 for a backup is a little expensive? Scrivens is an RFA, would make a good backup for Lu, we would probably want someone a little more experienced.

I've been expecting this to drag out until mid or late July all along unless some team throws a great offer at MG. I agree with you that getting back Schenn or Gardiner would be a solid deal for us.

Yes, but he also might not be as solid as advertised playing a 70 game season. There has to be some give and take from both sides. It can't all be for Schneider. I suspect if he wants to run in 3 or 4 years then Gillis would offer him less.

Breaking news: Hearing Jordan Staal turned down 10-yr mega offer from PIT. Has indicated to PIT he doesn't plan on signing extension now.
