Schenn has a favorable cap hit and is a big physical defender, young with great upside. Kimmo and Carle hit no one, although good players in their own right. I just think we could use some nasty on the defense. Granted I haven't watched Luke play a ton but his high hits, low pims intrigues me. Jmo.

We don't need Bob (and could use the cap space) plus a nice swap from 20 to 5 tomorrow.

I was interested in Schenn a while back. But since they added Grossmann, I don't see a need for Schenn. You need a mixture of players and skillset on the defense. They have enough grit with Coburn and Meszaros. Plus Meszaros and to a lesser extent Coburn, both have more offensive upside to them. I'd like to see Meszaros be given more offensive opportunity next Season.

Then it's defense by committee, as I don't know if Schenn will ever be a number 1 or 2 D man on this team, but again JVR for Schenn today would be pretty even as neither has shown enough consistency.
Still, if JVR plus another young forward or one of our D men plus, could get you Weber, then you hate to lose that chip.

I dont like Luke much...even then I'm thinking long and hard about that. Moving up 15 picks is no joke.

Schenn's play probably wouldn't even crack our top 6 on a lot of nights assuming everyone is healthy. I just don't see the need. It seems like a lot of people just want to see the brothers united. There are so many better trade routes to explore tho.

If Yandle is really on the block, then count me interested. Other than Weber, he'd easily become our 2nd best option.

Absolutely. A few people have been throwing him in proposed deals for some reason. He's really underrated offensively in my opinion. Love the guy.

I'm not very interested in trading to move up in the draft. I like our pick just fine.

I'm a little concerned two of the top 6 d-men are coming off back surgery (Kimmo and Meszy). I'm not condoning making a trade for the sake of making a trade, but the mix of the current d-core is somewhat in flux right now. Hopefully, both guys will be full strength and ready to go, but there certainly is a question.

Depends on what your looking for. He's really Carle. With the exception that he's a better goal scorer, and more dynamic offensively. But those who don't like Carle because of his lack of physicality, really won't like Yandle. He is less physical then Carle is. Same with giveaways. Carle is a better defensive player then Yandle is. And Yandle is not even close as a shot blocker to Carle.

I think Yandle would put up more points with the Flyers then Carle will.

Every time I saw him play last year I cringed hard. He def. stands to get better, he has to.

I haven't heard anything about a Phoenix - Flyers trade or Keith Yandle linked to Philadelphia.

He's shown the ability to move up on the play on the rush and score some goals. And he has a good shot. Unless he's moved, I'd like to see him get some more PP time.

I like Enstrom 2nd, he may be had for less, & wont cost as much $, and he's like Kimmo in the offensive zone

Oh man. Some fantastic laughs back from last year when we traded Richie and Carter.

Here are a few gems from me:

"We just traded our 3rd best player, a 40 GS, for Zherdev 2.0, an 8th overall pick that will amount to nothing, and a useless 3rd rounder! I hate u Homer you piece of crap, i hate you Bryz you greedy son of a female dog. (frank) me"

"If we trade Richards i will gladly give up my FlyerDom badge and cheer for the Winnipeg MooseHeads"

Man alive was i ever mis informed!

Most of us were in that boat. I said there was no way in hell they were going to trade Richards and Carter. That's why I don't doubt anything now.

Enstrom may actually be the best option. Not a flashy addition, but like you said, acquiring him shouldn't break the bank like the other guys would.

My immaturity really showed then. I was stuck on Caps the entire day.

Always good for laughs to read back at the comments.

Safe to say that was the Craziest day in Flyers history?

Makes sense. I was thinking Schenn, Mez, Carle, Coburn, Grossmann next season and with Kimmo retiring we use his $6.3 + the $2 losing Bob clears out in cap space to get a true top pairing dman.

IF we could get Weber I'm absolutely game.

I think the flyers could get Stalberg from Chicago for a pick..... I'd explore that to replace JVR this season if he's traded. The guy is big and fast..... reminds me of Voracek..... a lot. Hawks are down on him.

It's good you've matured over the last year. You'll be much more fit for the Nash for Couturier and a 1st deal tommorow.

he's pretty cheap for another year, with a big upside, he has shown he can play in your top 6 as he did in Chicago, but they may not be able to after signing Voracek, I think Jake gets a pretty nice raise when you look at some other players in the league with similar talent & production.
I think Weber is the only D man worth slightly overpaying for if that chance became available.
