Homer is just driving up Nash's price for the Blueshirts. Ryan would replace JVR since Ryan's been coveted here. However, I don't believe the Flyers are really looking at offense when team D was their Achilles' heel this past playoff run.

They could use another solid defenseman. You have Timonen who is on the verge of being done, Pronger who is done, Carle who is unsigned, Grossmann with bad knees, Mez with bad back, Gus whos the size of a flea, MAB who has had multiple concussions.

That leaves Coburn.

I hope JVR is ONLY used for a defenseman. I don't want to see them give up on him just yet for a guy like Nash's cap hit. (Nash is only a number to me, and I want it to stay that way.)

JvR's hip is a concern for me. I'm worried he will have issues during the season. You can rehab all you want but when the games start your body is asked to perform at another level.

It's good to know Mike Maneluk still has ties to hockey.
