I am sure many will disagree with me but.........
I think we need a vet center with wheels and is a playmaker and roll 3 lines
we would need a bruising RWer for the "third" line, Kaleta does not cut it and I do not think Tropp is ready for that role
I can see Coho putting up 60 points this year, if we have a full season - homiedclown
I sort of agree with you on that. The sabres played well for the first couple yrs after the lockout because we rolled 3 scoring lines. We never had a REAL number 1 line and all three lines produced.

Avs rumor from blog: "The rumored deal is Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Chuck Kobasew, the 41st overall pick this year and a first round pick in 2013 (risky since that could be a guaranteed number 11 pick if there is a lockout) for Parise and Johan Hedberg. After acquiring Parise, he has a verbal agreement on a seven year $49 million contract. The rumor cites Parise's friendships with Paul Stastny and Erik Johnson."
If thats all it takes to get Parise and him to agree to a 7 yr 49M contract, sign me up.
Enroth, 12th and 42nd this year, gerbe for parise and hedberg. "The rumor cites Parise's friendship with Drew Stafford."

i agree on the bruising RWer, and I love chris stewart out of stl. he was mentioned earlier today and I think it could be a great fit.
also agree on the center bit, this team needs a top line guy and hodgson/ennis/roy does not cut it. roll 3 scoring lines and have a 4th of mccormick/konopka/kaleta/tropp |

yes, but those teams did have #1 centermen, just maybe not a true #1 line. i still think this team needs a true #1 guy, and spread the winger wealth around |

Another thing I was thinking about...and I have NEVER once trashed lindy or darcy
but
How the heck did darcy allow himself to build this terribly small team? Like it just dawned on me that this team got to be this way somehow....and he is in charge
seriously

what is the honest asking price for thornton does everyone think? i'm sure joe is lobbying hard for his buddy nash. if the sharks don't get nash do you think they would entertain offers for joe? |

if i were the sharks GM, anything and everything would be on the table. they clearly need a shake up of that roster after getting nowhere since the lockout.
realistically, if youre trading for thornton, id say top 6 forward or top 4 dman, #1 pick, and a top level prospect.
in sabres terms, id go roy, #12 this year, gerbe and brennan. |

Post lockout, more penalties were called and the speed game worked. It looked like the league was moving in that direction and Darcy looked ahead of the curve. As the clutching and grabbing came back into the game, he failed to adjust and correct the roster. Here we are. |

I wouldn't consider Brennan the "top level prospect" that would get GM Doug Wilson drooling.
At this point, Brennan is going to be a career AHL, fringe-NHL type player, ala Doug Janik or Jeff Jillson.
That being said, still make a play for Jumbo Joe, absolutely. |

We will see Dave Bolland from the Hawks and that's it, IMO. |

thats why i added in gerbe, to balance that out a bit.
id drop gerbe and brennan and add in pysyk honestly, even mcnabb. i think thornton could do that much to this team. |

roy has to be moved then
he would be a good 3rd line center, but I think there are better options out there |

all i care about is a legit #1 center, i've heard bogosian's name thrown around and would love him also. i think if the sharks don't get nash than thornton could be had. the asking price for ryan or nash is just too steep in my opinion. sabres have plenty of options so thats something to be excited about. |
