Hearing Tyler Myers + could go to #Ducks to acquire Bobby Ryan if the trade is made #sabres #nhl
No (frank)ing way - GilPerreault
if this is true, which i doubt, we'd have to brink it up and get someone like sutter.
what a crazy rumor though. |

If Bobby Ryan was a top line 25 year old center then I could see Myers being dealt, especially with the emergence of McNabb, but not for a winger who has played with talented linemates helping to set him up. |

I think Ryan with average line mates probably puts up 50 points... 25-25 type... hes still a talented guy... one of the few "power forwards" out there. But his value is too high for what he is actually worth.
And Myers is the type of dman who only comes around once a decade |

Oh I know he is a talented power forward but like you said 6'8" very mobile and skilled D-men don't come around often. That was just an interesting rumor I just read from an employee of the Rangers and MSG so I thought I'd start everyone's day tomorrow with it. |

Some proposals for us to consider:
1) Chicago wants to get Suter, but needs the cap space to compete. They would like to move out Montador, or Hjamarlsson or Frolik and even possibly Kane; they have shown interest in Roy in the past and may have interest in Enroth or Miller;
a) To Buff: Kane, Frolik, Beech (big tough center) or McNeil (big soft hands center)
To Chi: Roy, Enroth and Adam
b) Smaller version of deal:
To Buff: Hjamarlsson, Frolik and McNeil
To Chi: Roy and Adam
2) Draft is in Pittsburgh and they would certainly like to move up; the likely target is Carolina or Columbus with Staal used as the main piece, alhough I would not be surprised to see Fleury AND Staal go to Colombus for Nash and Moore and with picks being switched around so that Pittsburgh picks 2nd. If Buffalo is to be involved, PIttsburgh would want Roy and Pysyk for Staal and for us to switch picks with them |

His talents only come around once a decade... If you can name a player that size that can skate like he can, then you keep him and work out the mechanics of being a defensman, you just dont give up on a 22yo freak of nature like Myers, im pretty sure the rest of the NHL feels that way. |

He's living off his rookie year and potential still but it would be tough to deal him for a 50 -60 pt winger. |

How is he still living off his rookie year??? He has proven that he can be a number 1 guy, he has trouble doing it consistently. He had an awful start this year then turned it around and was plagued by injuries. He had a bad sophmore season but that was kind of expected, he was told he had to be the guy and struggled as a 20 Y.O. shut down d-man, he still potted 10 goals with a few game winners. Ehrhoff was brought in to take some of the pressure off Myers and Ehrhoff was absolutely brutal for the first 20 games here as well. Im confident that a healthy focused Myers will show up in 2012. Trading him and signing Suter for 8 mil or whatever he will demand is insane IMO |

Miller to Anaheim for Ryan makes a lot of sense as the principal pieces; however goalies are not usually traded straight up 1 for 1, unless it is goalie for goalie. Anaheim needs to make a splash, and create some excitement now especially since LA won the cup.....LA went through the same thing when Anaheim won the cup .....Anaheim needs to re-focus the attention of its fans on its team and they are due a shake-up just like Buffalo is. Myers for Ryan does not happen on its own;
Myers or Vanek,with Miller and Adam for Getzlaf, Ryan and Hiller plus an exchange of 1st round picks.....now we are talking probably one of the biggest trades in NHL history.
Definitely creates a buzz on both sides of the world |

Teams that will do something include Minnesota and Colorado.
Would Vanek be a good fit in Minnesota....but what would they give us in return
Statsny would be great to get to Buffalo, but would a package of Roy and prospects be enough for them...maybe since Colorado don`t have a 1st round pick this year, Roy and a defenseman plus the 1st pick might do it.
Don`t be surpised if Buffalo picks Reinhardt if Calgary passes on him...he played with Pysyk and is quite the talent; Edmonton would love to get those two guys but they won`t trade the top pick for Pysyk and the rights to Reinhardt, they would want something more like sekera thrown in as well. Buffalo does not want the top pick, so there does not seem to be a fit with that team.
what will be interesting to watch is how top rated players free fall in the draft and some teams like NJ and Colorado and even Detroit try to trade up...Buffalo is in a good position to parlay all 4 picks in the first 2 rounds into many more picks this year and next;
If no deals are on the table, I would not be surprised to see Roy and Leopold move for picks and even Boyes negotiating rights to go for a 6th or 7th pick

Hiller > Miller ? - Smittyx36
Career stats:
Hiller - 2.53 GAA, .918 SV %
Miller - 2.57 GAA, .915 SV %
Numbers bear out his assertion. At the very least they are comparable. |

...Kyle Beach....big and tough, he is not a center. Also concerned as to why he was drafted 5 years ago and hasn't so much as sniffed the NHL. |

Minnesota can give us Koivu
Wow Pysyk, Reinhart's rights and Sekera for the 1st overall. How could we guarantee them Reinhart's rights? That conversation went like this, "we'll give you Pysyk and Sekera.......and, uh......I promise Reinhart won't be drafted and will be there for you at 12."
.....I would be very surprised if they got a pick for Boyes negotiating rights. Nobody wants Boyes that bad.

Since we're being ridiculous......
Anaheim gets - Myers, Vanek, Roy, Miller, Pysyk and the 12th overall in 2012
Buffalo gets - Fowler, Ryan, Getzlaf, Hiller, Peter Holland and one of either Max Friberg or Kyle Palmieri and a 3rd in 2013

My "realistic" trade proposals....
Regehr, #44pick --> Chris Stewart
#42pick --> Dubinsky
Roy, Weber, #21pick --> Bogosian
Leino --> low pick
Plus, re-sign Ennis(3.5m, 3yrs) & Kaleta (1.0m, 2yrs)
Also, sign Parise (7.0m cap hit)
PARISE-DUbINSKY-pominville
vanek-hodgson-STEWArT
foligno-ennis-stafford
gerbe-adam-tropp/kaleta
ehrhoff-BOGOSIAN
sekera-myers
mcnabb-leopold
sulzer
That would total up to 67.3mil cap hit dollars,
Leaving us 3.0m under the current projected cap...
Which would allow for plenty of room to add another bigger salary guy at the deadline if needed
Any thoughts?

Like the Stewart deal....hope a change of scenery for the second time helps him Shake the immaturity and consistency issues. Because when he's on he shows glimpses of a dominating power forward.
Love the idea of buying low on Dubinsky. Not sure that a mid level prospect wouldn't need to be added to the 2nd rounder
I'm all for the Bogosian trade, especially if we could sucker them into taking Weber off our hands. I'm thinking that if we're giving up the 1st rounder as well Id like a little more in return however. EDIT....they can throw in 6-4 winger Adam Lowry (son of former blue, panther, shark, and flame Dave Lowry) and I'd be content.
Definitely all for whatever gets Leino's contract off our books......well done sir |

After all the convincing it took to get Regehr and his family to accept the trade here, we're going to dump him after one year? That makes the organization look really bad. Regehr is here at least through this year.
And you "realistically" think the NYR are going to give you one of their leaders -- a guy who comes to play every single night, a guy that would go through a brick wall to win -- for a 2nd round pick? No offense, but that's laughable. |
