Those 3 produce no matter where they play, sorry. They're elite and make others better. Nash is not elite.
- KINGTUFF17

I'm done with this after this post.

How do you know those three produce no matter what? Stamkos has never NOT played a season without St. Louis. Malkin has always played with top end talent. Crosby is the only one IMO that will be amazing wherever whenever.

BTW I never said Nash was top 3 in the NHL. Stamkos/Malkin/Crosby aren't just elite. They are the top tier of the elite group.

Crosby never played on a terrible team in Pittsburgh?
Stamkos never played a terrible team in Tampa Bay?

Those 3 guys will produce anywhere they play...

- KINGTUFF17

Crosby has had Malkin almost every year...

Stamkos has had MSL and even Lecavalier there with him...

Nash's best player.. Umberger, Zherdev, Vermette, and Brassard.

please.....

Nash had 3x as many hits and 3x as many takeaways

those are defensive stats for Fs.

- JVince117

That's fine but it's not like Nash is throwing the body around like Ovechkin or taking it away like Datsyuk...

I would agree that Nash is not top 3.. he might not even be top 5.. but I would put him in top 10.. I think that is fair...

just to name players better in no specific order..

Stamkos, Malkin, Crosby, H. Sedin, Datsyuk, Ovechkin... after that it is hazy with Giroux, Nash, E. Staal, Toews, Zetterberg, Spezza, Richards, Thornton, St. Louis, Backstrom

Crosby came into the league and played with a team that was on the rise "Also he is the best player in the NHL and is one of the few that makes everyone around him good".

Stamkos came into the league and got to play with AMAZING players. So yea...

Not what I'm saying man. There point total will deff be down though. That's what I'm saying.

Your acting as if people think Nash is just as good those guys. He is not. But he would be a top 10 player in points if he played with decent players.... That's what I was getting at. GOD

Stamkos is and will be the NHL's best player for the next 10 years, IMO.

60 goals is not just ;uck and playing with other talent.

What I'm saying is, as #1 overall pick it's 100% fair to compare Nash to other #1 overall picks like Crosby and Stamkos.

Blog earlier today said that Philly is looking deep at trading for RFA D Eric Johnson...

Thoughts?

No.. if a player ever did that to management they would be seen as a complete cancer, not a team player, selfish, etc.
- JVince117

Perhaps, but why would a team with a talent like Nash let him languish for 10 years? Why have him at all if they don't want to compete? It doesn't make sense to have Nash and a bunch of losers as your team when you are trying to grow the sport in your expansion city.

Penguins sucked, got MAF, Crosby, Malkin, and JStaal.
Blue Jackets got Nash and ??? some whiny puke Russians who couldn't adapt? The franchise is totally incompetent and it behooves Nash to want out.

Its not like the Jackets were ever a borderline good team and he asked out, they suck and have no shot at getting better.

Being called selfish and a cancer is like the old adage about the sticks and stones. They hurt, but the 8 Million dollar paycheck and the will to win in a new city would trump anything that the GM in Columbus could ever say or do. This guy makes Darcy look good, so who's gonna care what he has to say? I'm sure the team that lands Nash won't complain.

If I had to rank where and how much I'd want players who have been linked to Buffalo are....

Nash>Parise>Getzlaf>Ryan>Staal>Stastny>Thornton>Marleau

bring on the hate...

I think Nash has the best 2 way game out of everyone.. I think that Parise is the best offensive talent in the group but he will have an almost the same contract as Nash.

Getzlaf is a great, young, BIG center who will demand atleast 6.5M+ on his next contract. Known as a good passer but has had a down spiral of goals recently.

Ryan is a proven 30+ goal scorer who is signed long term and for cheap. Some say he is a benefactor of the players around him.. I think he does have to have a fully capable center who we do not have currently.

Staal.. I think he will demand too much in a trade and that Staal had a chance to prove who he was when both Crosby and Malkin were injured and he wasn't exactly killing it as a 1C.

Stasnty is a big young center who has a good two way game.. is known to be a fantastic passer... is contract is what holds him down big time..

Thornton.. I like the guy he has the stats.. he has the leadership. he has the size.. but he is 32 years old and has a HUGE 7M contract.

Marleau... see everything said about Thornton but a year older and a Winger and not a Center which we need more than a winger.

- JVince117

I would say that's pretty dead on. If I could pick one guy it would be Parise. Out of all the players I watched in person this season, he impressed me the most. and I went to every single game. He is so fast. Unreal.

I've really enjoyed watching Parise for years now. I finally got him on my fantasy team last season and then he got hurt for pretty much the entire year. I thought he had a good year coming off of that bad knee injury this year. I would look for him to be even better next year now that he's got 1 full year in after the knee.

Bobby Ryan is a slightly more skilled version of Dustin Penner.... product of his linemates.

I think you have a point about his linemates helping him but not sure he is a "slightly" skilled version of Penner. Four 30 goals seasons in a row is pretty impressive. Anyway, there is no way the Sabres will trade Tyler Myers for him let alone + another asset.
