I'll go ahead and make you a statement: the Habs will finish dead last next year.
Do you guys even have any prospects or young solid NHL players?
Please don't name me Subban. - thomas81
Come on guy.......be realistic here. |

No... just no...
The Leafs don't have any players (with the exception of possibly Kessel) that you can compare to Brown, Richards, Carter, Kopitar or Doughty. Nor do they have a goalie that's even close to Quick's level. - WafflesAtACC
no they have lots of lazy players like Carter...but you make a great point |

Laugh all you want. You obviously didn't watch him very often. He plays with poise and confidence. He's just an all around great young defenseman. A complete package. - thomas81

If this piece of literary excellence doesn't win the Nobel Prize for Literature or at the very least a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction I will be extremely disappointed. Its a true masterpiece.... Bravo |

I believe, if they get Suter, and Parise. Then that will be enought to help them in the regular season and playoffs. The combination of Backstrom/Harding (IMO) is a better 1/2 punch than Quick/Bernier. Quick was amazing, but I do not think bernier could fill in as well as harding could. - acresd
i can't see either zach or suter signing with minny both would either stay with their teams or go to a known contender like Detroit, they won't want to go to a team that hasn't competed in the playoffs for a while and may not in the next season or two, both would be taking steps back before possibly going further
and the 1-2 punch works in reg season not in the playoffs and quick is better than backstrom
what i see happening is parise stays a devil and suter goes to Detroit |

if any team is like the kings, it's the st. louis blues.
the blues, just like the kings, have had the "young and upcoming" label for about 4/5 years. it's just a matter of putting it together at the right time.
they've obviously found the right coach (just like LA did) and now they have to add the 1 or 2 pieces that the kings did.

Well the 5th is a Canadian 5 which does have more value than an American 5 I think because of our banking. But it depends on investment really. |

I am not denying Gardiner has ability I am saying he'll likely slump much like the top D-men in the league have. Ask Myers, Subban, Doughty, etc..... it happens all the time.
This has nothing to do with Toronto hate, has to do with an idiotic statement. LA was favored by many to win the cup this year. Toronto has been favored by many to perhaps maybe make the playoffs as an 8th seed.
Major difference here.
You have major holes on D which is why Gardiner was forced to play the minutes he did. Schenn has underperfomed this year, Franson didn't dress for lord knows how long because the team had no confidence in him, Phaneuf played well, Gunnarsson was OK and Liles was njured so hard to gauge but you're gonna compare this to what LA has.
Second who is your Quick who has been an elite goalie for 3 years now?
Compare forwards? Championship teams have strength down the middle whether is Kopitar-Richards or back in the day of Yzerman, Fedorov, larionov. Hardly comparible to Bozak, Grabovski, Steckel, Connolly. - willey101
Doughty had a terrible terrible slump.
Also, I've said this many times. Reimer showed early in his career that he was going to be solid. Quick good? Unlikely. So what? Didn't Chicago win with Niemi?
Leafs don't need to worry about goaltending. They need a top center. |

They don't need one of that caliber. Plenty of teams have done it in the past. |

What are you smoking. Reimer showed early in his career? He's played a total of 71 games. 37 one year and 34 the next. What is early.......last season was early and he was piss poor. Even your fellow Leafs fans are against you.......stay off th wacky tabacky |

Hey Ek. Completely off topic, but are we ever going to get a reliable Blogger for the Flames???!!! Pretty big couple of weeks coming up with the draft and free agency and Vetter is nowhere to be found. - TandA4Flames
Ya really....it's pathetic. One of the most important off seasons in recent history for the Flames and we get jack squat on here. Come on EK! |

Wow. That's some Leafs hate right there. Surprise, surprise. - thomas81
No hate. None at all. I am a Flyers fan and the only team I hate is Pitt due to the rivalry.
Toronto to me just seems like a terrible team. Not even close to a cup.
The East is very competitive and the NE is sick, but Tampa, Washington, Ottawa could all be there. Jets. Who knows.
But Toronto and the Islanders. They have talented players, but the teams overall suck.
Maybe that will change one day. Probably better for the league that it does. |
