Except Landeskog is gonna take it home and Read and Henrique will battle it out for 2nd and 3rd...

no one even comes close to the impact that Landeskog had this year...

It's a quote. I'm on the pro-Landeskog side. But it's a very funny quote

Oh being a number one center on a playoff team i guess doesn't count? Kovy and Zach were carrying him...Thats right.

My Brewers will win the series today... giving up 6 HRs to them last night was ridiculous...

By "ridiculous" do you really mean "franking awesome!"?

My short case as to why Henrique should win Calder:

- He was tied for first in the NHL with Zach Parise for most short-handed points (7). Landeskog, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and other top Calder candidates had two or three.

- He had 43 non-powerplay points, which led all rookies.

- He was the first line center on a playoff team.

- Only Nugent-Hopkins had a higher points per 82 games ratio

Ok so what about this:

- Henrique played with 2 all star wingers (landdy did not)
- plus/minus
- GWG
- Goals
- Hits
- Takeaways
- Points
- only 19 (Henrique is 22, thats a big differance in there development!)

all examples of why Landeskog should/will win, nothing against Henrique and Nudge. Landeskog done more or just as much with less.

Henriique had:
Kovy 83pts
Parise 69pts

Nudge had:
Eberle 76pts
Hall 53pts

Landeskog had:
O'Rielly 55pts
Downie 41pts

Clearly there was more offensive talent on Henrique and Nudges lines this past year!

The points per game ratio of Nuge's linemates was only .08 less than Kovy and Parise. Kovy had 27 points on the PP, Parise 14, which Henrique did not play with them for.

And wasn't downie a TDL acquisition?

RNH actually didn't play with Hall that much even strength. He did play a lot with him on the PP, but the PP was definitely more dangerous with him in the lineup than out of it. I think the top unit was feeding as much off him as he was off them.

Anyone see the new rules from the BoG meeting? Not so sure how I feel about them

"For Rule 67, a penalty now will be issued any time a player places his hand over the puck while it is on the ice in order to conceal it from an opponent or prevent an opponent from playing the puck. For Rule 76, a delay of game penalty now will be issued to any player taking a faceoff who uses his hand to direct the puck in any direction."

stupid... first one i can live with, second one is just dumb, as a center this doesnt impress me. Out of all the issues this league has those must of been pressing issues.

He played just as much with Ebs and someone else (Smyth, Jones, Gagner) as he did with Ebs and Hall.

For comparison, Henrique played twice as much even strength with Parise and Kovy as Nuge did with Hall and Ebs.

what site are you using? I have different findings for sure.

It should be noted that there were 30 games this season where Nuge and/or Hall were injured, so if we see a high percentage of minutes played with Nuge and Hall, it doesn't necessarily mean they had a high number of minutes played together.

I'll give you that Nuge and Eberle were rarely separated though.

Don't you think that could be because of injury? Also, his production was at its best the more he played with Hall and Eberle.

Dobberhockey. It shows frequency of a players linemates.

see my addendum above.

I'm not saying he didn't benefit from them (he did), but I'm sure you get frustrated when people talk about Parise and Kovy gifting Henrique points. There's some give and take there, and RNH definitely pulled his weight.

It seems I have to be a member to get more than the last three games. In any case, I think (like Henrique) Nuge pulled his own this year, and the linemates argument is overrated.

I'm making this argument because I don't think either were pulled by their linemates. Its simply only Henrque gets pegged as being helped by his linemates, yet both played with talented players. Both players deserved to be on the top line and I don't think it should be taken into consideration for either.

Landeskog also had more TOI per game then either RNH or Henrique

Totally, I agree. They both earned it, and Nuge shouldn't be said to have had less "help" than Henrique. The only thing I could possibly say is that Kovy and Parise are better defensively than Hall and Ebs, then again Nuge's zonestart was easier than Henrique's.

Everyone from the Landy camp acting like Landeskog had no one forgets that Hejduk and O'Reilly aren't slouches and he had Stastny on the PP.
