Looks more and more to me like Grigorenko is going to drop for a slew of ridiculous reasons. He's undoubtedly the 2nd best player in this draft, behind Yakupov. If he makes it to us, it's an absolute no-brainer to take him. Based on everything I've read (which is a lot) Galchenyuk is at a level above Murray, also.
I don't think we can go wrong, but we should really be taking best player available. - eichiefs9
Is he a winger? You think he can jump right into the NHL and maybe play on JT line?? |

Grigorenko and Galchenyuk are both centers. According to Pronman, both project to be better NHL centers than Strome. So if we were to select either of them, Strome could be moved to the wing to play with Tavares. Or with Grig/Gally, depending on chemistry.
Pronman thinks Galchenyuk needs another year of Jr's, but has a very outside shot at making a team next year. He said Grigorenko is too good for Jr's, and ideally would play in the AHL, but could probably be ready for NHL action. |

One guy I cant put in here is NYI. He has been around since 2006 but for some reason had decided to grace us with his intellect. I hope he knows there is no room for that here at all. - kasperrko
But there is room here for you for calling someone an alcoholic or write they need to get out of the basement or need a date just because they don't agree with you about a hockey team or when they bring up links to information about things you claim that are simply incorrect you insult them instead of acting like an adult and making a hockey discussion?

To all my friends on here i just want to say you guys are awesome. I love playing around and talking Islanders even though i am out there some times but all in all it is all in good fun. From jimmy who has been teasing me about the Penguins for like forever. it is all good my friend and i enjoy our banter. To niteislander who disagrees with me about everything you are a great guy. To XXNYIXX who has been fighting with me back and forth about DP it is awesome and you know what buttons to push and to every one else who has had knowledge and legit beefs you guys are awesome. One guy I cant put in here is NYI. He has been around since 2006 but for some reason had decided to grace us with his intellect. I hope he knows there is no room for that here at all. Maybe he will chill out but until then to the rest Cheers!! Even you LetsGoIsles. - kasperrko
It's all in fun!!!
As long as you know that... it makes things fun in here!!!
In the end... we all want the same thing.
But in the meantime, we need to amuse ourselves.
Hopefully the Isles make some changes this year.
I know everybody doesn't agree on everything the Isles do.... but we are the diehard fans that will stick it out to the end....
The next couple days in here should be fun.... even for a Penguins fan in a DP jersey!!!! |

I have not assumed anything or asked if you were connected with the team once.
However, you wrote over several post:
Last year he was sitting on the bench as a back up & was not ready to play.
He has on multiple occasions been dressed to play when he shouldnt be.
But DP wasnt ready... but there he sat.. dressed. - XxNYIxX
I'm simply asking how can you know that? |

Fair enough, however that still does not make it so. I remember more than a few times some would make those claims specifically when he sat out a terrible loss against Buffalo one year (game two) that everyone wondered why did not go in relief of the starter.
For me, it just does not add up. Not for DiPietro, his agent, his doctors or the team when backups or emergency tryouts from Bridgeport are a phone call away. |

Same guy.. I still support DP & wish him nothing but the best, but not at the expense of the team. If he is the best goalie in camp (which i don't believe he will be) then so be it. But if he hinders the development of any of our prospects because he HAS to be the back-up.. that is a bad deal. THIS season i dont feel it will be an issue, its better for Poulin to start in BP rather then ride the pine behind Nabby. So i expect to see Nabby with DP as the back up.
BUT if Nabby God forbid goes down with an injury, i want to see Poulin up here with DP as his back up!
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
If Nabby goes down X you can bet it's DP's team and Poulin or whoever rides the bench. I think Poulin needs to be the backup to Nabby and let Nillson run with it in Bridge. DP needs to be in Bridge and should never play another NHL game until he proves he can stay healthy and he can play well. |

It does Poulin at this point in his career no good to sit the pine behind a guy like Nabby.. he should still be getting as many starts as he can in BP. Remember I personally think Nilsson is the best of the 3 goalie prospects. But Poulin is closer then him (atleast he was when the season ended)

If Murray is available at 4 and the Isles pass I think it's a big mistake. - ses111
It is a mistake and they will pass on him. I'm getting the feeling that Forsberg is the pick (unless hes gone). Hes right in their wheelhouse: late riser up the draft board after a good combine, power forward. He will be their pick unless tje Earth stops spinning and Yakupov falls 4 spots. |

for some strange reason, i think Snow will go with an unexpected pick
somebody like Faske or that little guy Teaurrovanen - Ur Not Me
That I could see too. Snow loves him some "thinking outside the box". If he trades down for one of those guys, I can understand it. If he drafts one of them at #4, he's an idiot. |
