Can't say YOU didnt warn me. - SCLI
They are ALL a joke. Just take any of them and dissect it yourself(not that you need me to tell you this). Watch patterns and figure it out. What pattern do the NY isles have? |

BD is a credentialed member of the media that writes for CBS Sports, so not like him. In fact, the exact opposite of him. - eichiefs9
The guys changes his opinion more often then NYI. Don't care. Just like a hockey player, if your not consistent, you're no good. |

1st Rd picks pattern?
2011- Strome- ***
2010-Nino- ***
2009- JT- DeHann- who knows?
2008- Bailey-
2007- NADA-
2006- KO- one day he's up and three days he's down.
*** - Actually to early to tell.
No obvious pattern, other then drafting forwards. Just occasional dumb luck.

Staple knows, as Botta learned, not to give honest opinions or be too critical of Wang/Snow, lest he "loses" his press pass/job and has to go work as Katie Strangs assistant.
Garth's BS double-speak and inability to improve this team, measurably, has to be accountable. It's been 5 years. The team is not much closer to the playoffs than they were. Just for starters, we have an inferior coach....probably ranked 32nd in the NHL.
I really wonder how many games with ZERO attendance would it take for Charles to fire Garth. We as fans are sick of his slick little smile, his chowder-head accent and all his excuses and saying one thing & doing another, his crappy cronies, signed to add "veteran" leadership, which when you add it all up, clearly PROVES he is failing at the job. Most any of us here could have drafted 90% of the same people Garth did, standing on our heads.
If no major, immediate improvement to the team comes from Friday's draft, other than another " Top Prospect" to throw into the pool, then we all need to come to the conclusion that the "Rebuild" is never going to be completed. Garth doesn't have the answers OR can't figure out the ways to improve this team other than by losing each year and getting high picks. A monkey could do the same....sit back and wait and then hold his hands up and say, "What, we didn't make the playoffs? I did all I could.....nobody wants to play for us except the guys who HAVE to play for us.....not my fault - it's a rebuild....old arena......it takes time....due dilligence.....blah, blah,f;in blah"
I'm flucking sick of it. I don't care if he & Charles are the nicest bosses ever and cure cancer and figure out cold-fusion and breed sharks with laser beams on their heads....FIGURE OUT A WAY TO IMPROVE THIS TEAM NOWWWWW! OR YOU ARE JUST ANOTHER WORTHLESS POS! - jmo16
If he made all of those inventions at the end maybe he will be able to appropriately reach the cap floor |

at 4??? I hope not
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Actually Reinhart to the Isles is very possible.
TSN has him ranked fourth overall. Bob Mackenzie, and Pierre McGuire has the Isles taking him @ #4 in their mock draft.

Nah, you are right. We can blame management for letting him be part of the reason this team is a laughing stock. - Cptmjl
This is true as well... I will never blame them for drafting him, or signing him to that contract... He was a good, young, American born, cocky, goalie. I can thou... blame them with the way his injuries have been handled & the amount of chances he has gotten & continues to get. I understand full well they want to get whatever they can out of their investment, but at some point you have to cut ties & try recoup your losses elsewhere.

I'm sorry your right. So few wins it's hard to remember. Even though they were the clear cut favorite to win the JT lottery. |

You never know with these kids. 18 year olds.
Sometimes I think they should wait till 20 years old to draft them. |

I agree. Seems like a real reach at 4. Dumba also seems like a reach at 4. Forsberg & Grigorenko I can see at 4. |

I think Dumba would be a reach as well.. but id rather him over Reinhart if we are making a reach. NOT that Reinhart is a bad player... i just think there should be 3 players better available at 4

How did the Isles handle his injuries wrong? He was sent to Vail Colorado like everyone else, after that they brought in James Andrews who's one of the best in the county and he needed a second surgery. Since then it's been other things like a hip pull or hernia surgery or an elbow pad to his eye, not the knee.
Poulin's had some of the same knee problems, Koskinen, was hurt both years in North America before they let play regularly in Europe. Nilsson got hurt too last year in Bridgeport.
DiPietro dressed for over fifty games in 2010-11 and played in 26 games, if not for the elbow pad he likely makes close to forty games, on a team well below five hundred he's been close to break even in his minimal starts.
He's going to get chances because there is more than a fair chance he could still completely recover. He got the bulk of the starts in preseason and Capuano went right back to Montoya, then Nabokov before DiPietro got his brief chance.
If the doctors tell the Isles he can no longer play because of his knee they advise the patient, team and that's when you recoup the losses.
Insurance pays his contract and the cap hit is gone. |

Don't listen to Staple that the Isles aren't interested in Murray. I think that is who they want but they are holding their cards close to the vest...same as they did with Tavares...as I remember wasn't the rumor on draft day that they were going to pick Duchene? |
