Hate the guy always did and always will. Got thrown out of an Islander game for screaming and yelling at him when he left the ice as I used to sit right above the visitors entrance

From what I read on newsday chat with a guy named Staple, he pretty much says the Islanders aren't high on Murray and would rather trade down then draft him. He also said the Islanders aren't going after big name players during the UFA because they don't have the money and the cap floor is probable going to be lower this year. They won't know the cap floor until Sept, he said. He also said Strome and Nino will not start with the team next year, unless Strome has a good camp. So pretty much they will draft someone we haven't talked about and they will sign a few scrubs to fill in for PA and the other openings. Sound like this team is headed for a top 5 pick in 2013 again. Wang should just sell the team to someone that will care.

First off all it was 3,000 at the Scatchard blizzard game against Chicago and Charles Wang was there giving out hats during a huge losing streak.

Second they were removed from television because Dolan gave the Isles eighteen percent of all Msg revenue and invoked a phony competition clause to bully them into changing the deal, not because of advertisers.

By Msg logic that mean no Rangers for most of the last eighty years and no Knicks the last decade being that they have less playoff wins than Islanders.

"Don't expect much" was the general theme. I copied and pasted some questions/answers either earlier in this thread or in the thread from Dee's last blog if you want to go back and take a peek. Was bleak on PA also. Wasn't the most happily themed interactive chat.

Technically Galchenyuk is American

Nitpicky-not-serious-ball-breaking aside...it's not so much that I want a forward. I just want the most skilled player. Swap draft years between Larsson and Murray, and I'd be campaigning day and night for Larsson.

Grigorenko oozes skill, Galchenyuk seems to be a happy medium between Yakupov and Grigorenko. I like Murray a lot also, he just happens to be #3 on my wishlist.

Oh boy!! Actually I have nothing to say you. Let me out it this way. As a fan of a team I can rip into any player I want as many times as I want. If you think the Islanders are a better team with Ricky D. Then good for you. Have fun with that. I think I am speaking for half the Islanders fans where I say this team is better off without him.

I became an Islander fan when Pat Lafontaine left. I am sorry never liked the guy at all. I was also a huge Mario fan. Loved the guy when he played hate him now. I have been a fan for a while of this team and have been through all the ups and downs. I was one of 4,000 fans there when they did not even have a jumbo tron and were being threatened to be removed from TV cause every sponsor was backing out. I was there for the blizzard game and watched David Scatchard score a hat trick and made the trip all worthwhile. I have also spent thousands on this team more then I ever did for the Penguins. I dont need to prove my allegiance to you or anyone but I think I have done a lot more for this team then you have from Canada

He said he heard from people in the know that the cap floor is actually going to be lower and expect the same bargain bin shopping (more or less). Expects Parenteau gone to the highest bidder but the money wasn't the issue with the Islanders it was the length of years. Also said he heard from those in the know that their will most likely be an amnesty buyout clause in the new CBA. Not sure if Wang will use it on the golden boy though. As chiefs said earlier, didn't say they didn't like Murray but they plan on using later picks to pick up D. I don't remember if he said he would or he thinks the Islanders would but he mentioned picking Forsberg at #4.

He said if it were him picking he would take Forsberg or Rielly. Hopefully nobody puts any stock in that, because although he covers the game...that doesn't mean he knows a single thing about scouting guys. He admitted as much when he said that.
