What is up with DeHaan, have not heard anything about him - habs&islesfan
He is part of the package to get Bobby Ryan or a top 4 defenseman... |

I hope you are right and that GArth sticks to his word. If he does not do anything this year then I think he will need to go - kasperrko
He technically should have gone after this season in my opinion, but seeing as though Wang kept Mildew about 5 years too long, i dont see Snowjob going anywhere

Based on what Garth said at the questions and answers session, one would have to think he's going to bring in defensive help via trade. He clearly said that 4 years ago the main objective in the re build was to re stock the prospect pool. Theyve since done so, and he did say that they now have the assets to make a move. All signs point one way.... - kindlyrick
I hope to see either Nino, Strome, Grabner or Okposo traded along with our 2012 1st round pick for a top defenseman.
Look at teams deep a defense like Phoenix, Ottawa, etc. for trades.
Maybe trade some of our prospect pool to San Jose for Brett Burns...they literally have 0 quality prospects......I think Nino and our 2012 1st should get it done. |

The TSN draft, done by Craig Button who always has to be different, also has Grigorenko going #17 to the Sharks. Reinhart will likely be a fine player, but he's not going at #4. I'd be shocked to see Grigorenko fall further than 5. - eichiefs9
If we take Grig, Foresburg or Murray I am pretty happy. If We move down and get Dumba, Reinhardt, trouba or Ceci... I am pretty happy. If we move up and grab Nail... I am flat out in tears happy. If we Trade the pick and end up with PK, Weber, Yandle, etc..... I am tears happy.
If we stay at 4 and take a Faska, Maata, Teravainen ... I am flat out pissed. |

Garth Snow told possible Season Ticket Holders that he now has the assets and pieces to make a trade for established help. At the draft on Friday guys like Evander Kane, Bobby Ryan and Rick Nash are all avaliable. You say he's not going to make any trades. Is Snow just telling lies to the fans? A guy like Kane or Ryan fits perfectly into the Isles plan.

Staple: Al -- I don't think the Jets are trading Kane just yet. As for Ryan, I don't think the Isles have the depth to blow away offers from teams like the Rangers or Flyers or whomever else of the big-ticket teams wants in on him. They are in position to start making moves, but my guess is they would do that if they start the season well and poach a player to add to a playoff push; prices are just too high right now for the big names. |

I don't mind the pick being traded.. but to also trade one of the guys u mentioned would probably piss me off...
The trade that makes most sense if PK... Take PK and Gomez... give them the pick and a prospect. ... (not strome). |

Make sense, but if Garth is flat out saying this, he's obviously working on something. The isles obviously lose money, but they need whatever season ticket holders they can get. I would like to think he's telling the truth
That said, i wouldnt go out and trade the farm for some of these guys. Let the other side of the trade hit the panic button a little.........someone will budge eventually.

That I can get on board with.
Frankly, I'd like to see who we take on Friday/Saturday before I start proposing trades. If we get one of the big centers (Gally/Grigs) it could potentially make Strome/Nelson/Lee expendable. If we take a defenseman, it's a different story. We are deepest at center. Not overly stocked on the wings, and probably the shallowest at D. No need to get on any ridiculous draft day trades, unless we're fleecing someone. |

I think the best time to make a trade is draft day.

Most of the trades will probably take place leading up to the draft Friday night. |

The big ones probably. We aren't getting Ryan, Nash, or Luongo though. |

Lets face it when Friday night comes and goes we are either going to be scratching our heads as to why we pick the player we picked or scratching our heads whey we made a dumb trade. |

Scratching my head now... trying to figure out why you switched from a Penguins fan to an Isles fan.
Then just cut them up every chance you get.
Did you do this as a Penguins fan before the fixed draft for Sidney the Baby??? |

My common sense. Other teams have way more to offer than we do. |

And of course you will have to rip DiPietro for that too, did you blame him for the weather yet today? |

Oh boy!! Actually I have nothing to say you. Let me out it this way. As a fan of a team I can rip into any player I want as many times as I want. If you think the Islanders are a better team with Ricky D. Then good for you. Have fun with that. I think I am speaking for half the Islanders fans where I say this team is better off without him. |

Trust me even me not rooting for this team is not going to help them. They need a lot more then that. I mean they have there sheep who agree with everything they do and say and that is great. Every team has fans like that, but every team also has the realist and well so far they prove me right every year by doing nothing at draft signing no free agents, and being in the top 5 worse teams in the league every year. So until that trend stops well I will rip them.
Oh and there is only one way I will stop rooting for this team and that is if JT gets traded. Cause then I will know they threw in the towel and just gave up all together. so be careful for what you wish for |

I became an Islander fan when Pat Lafontaine left. I am sorry never liked the guy at all. I was also a huge Mario fan. Loved the guy when he played hate him now. I have been a fan for a while of this team and have been through all the ups and downs. I was one of 4,000 fans there when they did not even have a jumbo tron and were being threatened to be removed from TV cause every sponsor was backing out. I was there for the blizzard game and watched David Scatchard score a hat trick and made the trip all worthwhile. I have also spent thousands on this team more then I ever did for the Penguins. I dont need to prove my allegiance to you or anyone but I think I have done a lot more for this team then you have from Canada |
