To all my friends on here i just want to say you guys are awesome. I love playing around and talking Islanders even though i am out there some times but all in all it is all in good fun. From jimmy who has been teasing me about the Penguins for like forever. it is all good my friend and i enjoy our banter. To niteislander who disagrees with me about everything you are a great guy. To XXNYIXX who has been fighting with me back and forth about DP it is awesome and you know what buttons to push and to every one else who has had knowledge and legit beefs you guys are awesome. One guy I cant put in here is NYI. He has been around since 2006 but for some reason had decided to grace us with his intellect. I hope he knows there is no room for that here at all. Maybe he will chill out but until then to the rest Cheers!! Even you LetsGoIsles.

Funniest part of that statement is the one time u thought the Islanders were going to go on a run and make the playoffs ... I was saying u are nuts. So even when u are the Koolaide guy (albeit a very very short period of time).. I was on the other side... hahahaha

all Good Kasper...

Grigorenko and Galchenyuk are both centers. According to Pronman, both project to be better NHL centers than Strome. So if we were to select either of them, Strome could be moved to the wing to play with Tavares. Or with Grig/Gally, depending on chemistry.

Pronman thinks Galchenyuk needs another year of Jr's, but has a very outside shot at making a team next year. He said Grigorenko is too good for Jr's, and ideally would play in the AHL, but could probably be ready for NHL action.

Well he is 20 so should be elligible for AHL right?

You sold me on Grigorenko! . That just proves how much I know about these kids. I've read quite a bit about them but all these write ups read like a sales pitch. They all sound great. I'll be happy if the Islanders don't go off the board. Take the safe pick or trade it for someone who is worth it. That's all, hopefully not too much to ask?

That's right, I did read something about that. Wouldn't mind him putting on an Isles sweater. As long as they don't go off the board I'll be happy. I'd say Murray, Gal, or Grings. One of those three sounds good to me

I have strong feeling that we will draft grigorenko because he is ready to play in nhl. He probably would play on second or third line with Nino and Ullstrom.

Not so sure Nino will be starting with the big club this year? Hopefully he gets a season in the AHL. Think it will be good for him.

I'd like to see that, simply, for him to get his scoring confidence back.

And that would be a mistake. Not necessarily drafting Grigorenko, but thinking of putting Nino on the Islanders again in 12-13. Nino is not an NHL player. Not even close. He shouldn't sniff the NHL again until after he demonstrates in the AHL that he's ready for the NHL.

On a side note, where is it being said that Grigorenko is NHL ready? I keep seeing him sliding down draft boards as far as mid-teens in the first round. How is that indicative of an NHL-ready player?

I swear he is an alcoholic. I mean he jumps all over the place. X seriously if DP can get back to form and play competively then he is ok in my book. I just dont see it and if he fails again then something needs to be done

On a side note, where is it being said that Grigorenko is NHL ready? Isn't this the guy who played all of two regular season games plus a playoff because of a knee injury last season? Should we really be rushing a kid to the NHL who did not even play close to a full season in the "Q" last year? I think another year of Jr in the "Q" wouldn't hurt Grigorenko at all.

- Jethro09

No, that was Galchenyuk. Grigorenko went 40, 45, 85 in 59 games in the Q this year.

Trust me I totally dislike the guy always did from day one, but if for some strange bizarre reason he plays like the goalie that we all thought he could play like and is helping the team instead of hurting it, then of course I would welcome him back with open arms

I get my "G"'s mixed up. Still, some draft boards have him going as late as the mid-teens. I can't imagine that an "NHL-ready" player would slide down to the middle of the first round if he was truly "NHL-ready".

Chief is a good salesman. He has me at the point that we could take either of the Russians (sorry one American ) and I'd be perfectly content. Although I still Dumba.

I think he's slipping for a similar reason Couturier did. People question his motivation, and it's intensified because of a less-than-stellar playoffs (3, 7, 10 in 11 games...doesn't seem too bad to me, really), but he had mono during that time. Similar to Couturier having mono during his draft season and people started saying he looked disinterested or whatever, and he fell all the way to Philly at 8th, I think, even though for the longest time he was the consensus, or at least near-consensus, number one pick.

No one, from the little I've read, has questioned Grigorenko's skill-set. I've said before, I'm always skeptical when a guy is rated at the top for a while, then all of a sudden falls for suspicious reasons. Same as a player being rated in the mid-teens then all of a sudden shoots up in the rankings just because he has a good 6 games or whatever.

The early rankings I recall had Yakupov, Grigorenko, Murray in the top three. If one of those players falls to the Isles, they should be thankful and take that player, imo. The NHL-ready stuff...who knows. Guess we can debate that when camp starts and we actually see these people play.

From Brian Huddle:

Unfortunately he can't. He'll be drafted out of the QMJHL, which means he has to play two more years in their league or the NHL, no AHL eligibility.
