The "only worth Komi" part is that the Canucks absolutely will have to take a bad contract back. but Komi hardly played any part towards the value of Luongo.
My expectation if Toronto traded for him (hopefully they don't) would be Franson and Komisarek plus maybe Jerry D'Amigo. - Juice
We'll see how it all shakes down. That is a more realistic offer than I have seen from most posters. |

I think if there is another penalty-free buyout clause in this next CBA (widely anticipated) then if NYI have the money on hand it's almost a guarantee they buy out DiPietro.
I like your thinking here with the Isles as a possible destination and they do have some assets worth pursuing. I don't how Lu feels about NY but it is closer to his family in Florida and the spotlight is a bunch less (2nd team in that city, 3rd in the region after NJ). - AlexF
I think he would jump to live in East Coast NY. He could sell that to his wife or Mrs Aquilini easier thanVancouver. |

I don't know if this is worth anything, but from a PR move it would be brilliant to bring Lu back. If I remember correctly, the majority of Pathers fans were pissed, when Lu got traded to Van. - fiveandagame
Fukk the PR. We need a hockey trade or this team is going to be out in the first round again next year. |

If they didn't need to send salary back then no need for Scotty but history shows with Talon he sends back his bad contracts in deals. So I doubt he just says here are some young guys. - VANTEL
He just signed Upshall last year (over payed in my opinion) and I think they liked the way he played down the stretch. Getting to the cap floor will be their challenge this year, but what does work against a Luongo trade is that they would have to actually pay 6.7 for a 5.3 cap hit, not really ideal for a team with a lower budget. |

If we're "taking" Komisarek I'd rather get Colborne and either a pick or a d prospect. |

Snow is also known, as we know, for the unconventional move. And I think he feels he's got to get quality players like Tavares some support towards being a potential playoff team, or fear losing them down the road. You put Luongo behind that team, and with those players having another year to gel, they move up the standings, close to a spot. Something like Luongo, Canucks 1st and Connauton (some close prospect, or if he'd take Ballard, they do have to get to cap floor) for Isle's 1st rounder and negotiating rights to PA Paranteau. (or mix and match as you please).
It highly unlikely to happen, I know, but it's better or just as absurd as all the silly rumors coming out of Toronto, especially from the Toronto-based media who are basically mouthpieces for Leafs mgmt (I'm looking at you, Dreger) |

I think there is a better deal out there than a 3.5 million dollar AHL d man |

This is why I would rather deal with FLA. If we get Garrison then we get our top 4 D plus Mathias . Six foot four center 10 goals nice 3 rd liner .Or Ellerby he had trouble cracking the team but could be a prospect. |

You touch on an interesting point with the NYI needing to reach the cap floor (as does FLO). For everything negative adjective that has been used about Luongo's contract, they largely go away for teams needing to reach that floor. 5.3M for a #1 goalie is a great deal for many such teams. The only issue here is the new CBA. I've heard comments that they might look to remove the cap floor as struggling teams are paying much higher wages than before the lockout and the alternative, relocate those struggling teams, Betman seems allergic to. If this were to happen it might change things but for sure Snow is a guy that likes locking up his key players long term. |

Just spoke with Anton Thun, agent for #Canucks prospect Nicklas Jensen, who'll play in NHL or in Sweden next season.
Jim Jamieson@JamiesonCanucks
Thun says Jensen will be excused from Swedish Elite League team (TBA) to attend #Canucks training camp and has out clause if he makes team.
Jim Jamieson@JamiesonCanucks
Thun says Jensen needs a higher competitive environment than junior hockey next season.

I think the perfect draft day will have to include trading down, or trading assets to obtain some 2nd and 3rd round picks. I think it is that type of draft. hopefully there is someone on the board at 26 that someone else really wants, and we get a 2nd and 3rd round round pick. That is how I think the Canucks draft day will unfold, anyone agree? |

If AV wasn't behind the bench I'd say Jensen had a legitimate shot at making the team and could replace Raymond. But AV is there so no doubt a year in Sweden beckons. |

I missed the part where Minny was upgraded from a bottom feeder to a contender. Pretty sure Suter and Parise wanted to play for contenders. |

I think Gillis spanked his noodle this offseason. I think they have both discussed changes in team and style and that includes coaching. |

I like it. It shows he wants more. With that said he better absolutly bring it in camp this year if he is going to say stuff like that |

Is he not eligible to play in the AHL? He did in the AHL playoffs last year, but maybe he can only do that when the junior season is over. If this is a snub to working on his game in Chicago, not a good sign, but if it is because AHL not an option, then I get it. |

Normally I would agree with that, but I do remember AV going on record last year about how much he liked Jensen. |
