So if Luongo ends up in Florida and we end up with a top 4 dman in return, do we here endlessly from Leafs fans stating that Burke should have traded Schenn or Gardiner for him, after months of "he's only worth Komi" etc. |

According to sources out of Long Island, it appears PA Parenteau is headed to free agency on July 1.

Nice job, hey who do you think will win the Alexander Daigle award this year? I think it'll be mikeal Grigorenko without a doubt - I-own_da-Northwest
More like the Alexander Semin, Alexei Kovalev award.
Boat load of talent but it's too lazy to show it's face. |

Better to wait and get the deal you want.
Curious , how do you see Gillis moving up? I am not sure of what we could offer. This draft sounds like it doesn't have enough talent to make a serious push. - VANTEL
It would likely have to be involved in the Luongo deal, somehow. Also, I don't see Luongo ending up in Toronto, for many reasons. I'm still betting on unexpected destination, maybe one in which a higher 1st rd pick becomes part of the deal...(Hi Garth Snow, you're just crazy enough to take on another long goalie contract to bring Luongo back to the Isle, ain't ya!?) Isles are a team that needs to work to get to the cap floor, could maybe buyout Dipietro (not sure if that's allowable) and bring in back Luongo to back stop an Isles team that is building up some decent talent...crazy? a longshot? yes, to both, but it will be something off the board on Luongo I believe. I don't think gillis wants him showing up on HNIC with the Leafs, among other reasons. |

The "only worth Komi" part is that the Canucks absolutely will have to take a bad contract back. but Komi hardly played any part towards the value of Luongo.
My expectation if Toronto traded for him (hopefully they don't) would be Franson and Komisarek plus maybe Jerry D'Amigo. |

Doubtful. It'll probably be more like: "We're better off without him. Reimer needs a bit more time and Scrivens tore up in the minors so he's only a few years away." |

All the crap on these boards is the main reason I don't even want to make a deal with Toronto. I would much rather the Leafs flounder with "Optimus Riem" and "The Monster" and get ready for another lottery pick. |

Upshall makes $3.5 m, and you are already unhappy about having Ballard as a 7th d and Manny as a 4th line C/LW...
Florida doesn't need to send salary back, they are still $25 m from the floor with 16 players signed. They have 11 forwards, 4 d and 1 goalie. Add Lu and and they need to spend $20 m on a bottom pairing d, 4th liner and a few spare parts... |

If they didn't need to send salary back then no need for Scotty but history shows with Talon he sends back his bad contracts in deals. So I doubt he just says here are some young guys. |

I don't know if this is worth anything, but from a PR move it would be brilliant to bring Lu back. If I remember correctly, the majority of Pathers fans were pissed, when Lu got traded to Van. |

I think if there is another penalty-free buyout clause in this next CBA (widely anticipated) then if NYI have the money on hand it's almost a guarantee they buy out DiPietro.
I like your thinking here with the Isles as a possible destination and they do have some assets worth pursuing. I don't how Lu feels about NY but it is closer to his family in Florida and the spotlight is a bunch less (2nd team in that city, 3rd in the region after NJ). |
