MORE GAGNER!!!

This is a 2007 draft do over. In this edition, Kane remains the #1 pick, Couture and Benn go 2-3 and our Sam Gagner slips to 13th. He fares better than Turris (14th from 3rd) or Hickey (4th to straight out of the first round), but gets a little smacked around (albeit somewhat fairly):
"Had one great week in '11-12, otherwise still not a No. 2 center for a contender".
My opinion: The guys that moved up ahead of him (Couture, Benn, Subban, McDonagh, Perron, Shattenkirk, Simmonds, and Sutter) pretty much all deserve it. This was really the first season of offensive note for Simmonds, but he's always been a more well-rounded player. Sutter, you're making a fair trade off between offense and defense, but it's probably a smart one for a lot of contending teams. My real beef is how JVR is still hanging up there. I think he's a great player in the making, but his biggest asset is still his potential. Mostly, he's a guy with underwhelming numbers so far who excels at being a large human.
