My Isles Rumor.. feel free to crush it..
Isles trade their 4th pick, Dehaan, and a 3rd round pick to Habs for
PK Subban and Gomez.
Habs have money to go after Suter, Parise, etc. They get a solid puck moving D-man prospect in Dehaan.. and a 3rd.
Isles get their D-man and also get closer to cap floor spending less (they need to get about 18 mill to floor.. Gomez cap hit is 7.4..only making 5.5.. next year makes 4.5 same cap hit.. let's face it until they have an Arena deal in place Wang is trying to limit his losses at this point).
There is my Rumor.. a little more feasable then "going hard after Jokinen". How many centers can one team have? Jt, Nielsen, Strome, Brock nelson, Reasoner, Bailey, etc. etc. - niteislander
Didn't Subban just extend ? If it hasn't been announced yet get ready for it. |

If you poked your head out of the hole that is the MSG Network, you'd understand. Gardiner is definately worth the 1st overall. He played top defence pair minutes, as a rookie. His puck handling skills and skating are miles ahead of most 21 year old's, at this point of his career. Edmonton needs defence and if you get Gardiner, you probably get 2 for 1, with Schultz, his room-mate at North Dakota. - PrinceLH
I really think people are looking way to much into that. Yeah they are buddies, roommates. So what? Lots of players are friends around the league. If it factors in at all it will be minor. I think he comes to the kings |

No big secret the Wings will probably let Hudler go unless he comes back on the cheap. He is what he is, a small, slow forward with a good hands.
In the regular season he can rack up some points if he has the right complimentary players. In the playoffs he's a liability because he's not fast and gets run over easy. Someone will overspend on him for sure. |

I want to see Strome play for you guys this year - cor99
He looked like he needed to bulk up a bit when I met him last year... but I could easily see him make the team (I am guessing Nino starts in B-port).
My other rumor would be Komi to isles ... same situation.. komi cap hit is 1 mill more then he is getting paid and Wang is def. not happy about having to reach cap floor. to take Komi would be a favor to u guys.. what would the trade look like? |

Ridiculous as they are, at least you guys have fun/ludicrous/wild entertaining roomers. The Broons aren't gonna do poop.

Don't most players reach that point where if they don't resign with their teams they break ties?
Why does everyone keep expecting Burke to do something amazing? he's been how long in TO and hasn't made the playoffs and keeps stockpiling D-men but nothing up front. |

Only way Isles getting a D-man is via some sort of trade like this... so I would not be surprised to see it happen. PK good friends with JT ?? that true? |

Simply Komi for a 6th possibly, you guys gain a vet D that goes to team that has no pressure. It helps you guys reach the cap floor for a year
We lose the contract
Its the sort of deal that opens the door for more trades down the road |

They are best friends. Extremely close.
Subban is my favorite player but if we could get rid of Gomez, and acquire DeHaan and the #4 overall then it is a deal we'd have to consider. |

The rumors was based on them both saying in a Feb article that they would one day like to play together in the NHL. Then a month later Schultz completely did a 180 on the Ducks and wanted to test the FA market.

In an interview, a few months back, a reporter asked Gardiner about Schultz and he said that they had recently talked about wanting to play on the same team together. You also have to remember that Schultz was drafted by Brian Burke, in Anaheim. He also met Randy Carlyle, at that same draft and with his buddy Gardiner being in Toronto, it makes a strong case. |

If the Leafs trade Gardiner to Edmonton then essentially they are getting two Dmen with Schultz signing in Edmonton. The Leafs would then get the 1st overall pick and nab Yak then trade down using their #5 pick to grab Gally. So the question is would Edmonton trade the #1 pick for Gardiner and Schultz ? - Crispo98
doesn't wrok that way... how about gardiner, their 2nd, and their first in 2013 or 2014 (leafs choice) for the 1st and khabilbulin |

SHUT UP - cor99
Sorry man. People will look for a correlation, a connection anywhere. If Schultz rear-ended daryl sutters tractor on a highway, I could easily say " oh, well Sutter punched him in the nose, but they must want to tie up lose ends and be friends, Schultz to the kings!" |

Dear Ek,
The islanders have 1 priority... 1.. it is a top pairing D-man. Please adjust your insane rumors accordingly. Saying the Isles are going hard after jokinen is absurd. - niteislander Thank you for saying what any isles fan would say. Plus jokinen is gonna want to play for a team that is in a position to win now such as detroit, LA, chicago, pittsburgh for example. And ek, how the hell is gardiner gonna be the piece that gets toronto the 1st overall pick? Toronto is gonna have to give up their 1st round pick and other pieces for the pick. Gardiner straight up for the 1st overall pick is completely one sided. You are basically recycling your "rumor" from the 2009 draft that only reason burke couldn't get the 1st overall pick from the islanders was because he refused to put luke schenn in the deal. And in 99, Burke basically moved heaven and earth to get the sedin twins.

They'll have a good to pretty good season but they really needed to get a legit top 6 guy to put them in serious cup contention. I can't wait till they resign offensive genius, super stud Benoit Pouliot. (puts gun in mouth)

Going to take more then Gardiner. You would think people could figure that out on their own but they still are questioning how Gardiner can fetch the 1st overall. Even Leaf fans know we will be giving up more but Gardiner will be the center piece. |
