Look man, nobody is saying they wouldn't enjoy playing together. But to try and saddle that with some sort of trade value for the Leafs is just stupid.

It is fine and quite possibly likely that they want to play together. However, Schultz has absolutely no trade value for the Leafs. None. In no way will any team trade a valuable asset in the hopes that another player may sign as a Free agent. It is silly to think otherwise.

No man, you don't understand. Who ever drafts Griffin Reinhart pretty much drafts Max too, 2 for 1 draft pick, too easy.

My Isles Rumor.. feel free to crush it..
Isles trade their 4th pick, Dehaan, and a 3rd round pick to Habs for
PK Subban and Gomez.

Habs have money to go after Suter, Parise, etc. They get a solid puck moving D-man prospect in Dehaan.. and a 3rd.
Isles get their D-man and also get closer to cap floor spending less (they need to get about 18 mill to floor.. Gomez cap hit is 7.4..only making 5.5.. next year makes 4.5 same cap hit.. let's face it until they have an Arena deal in place Wang is trying to limit his losses at this point).

There is my Rumor.. a little more feasable then "going hard after Jokinen". How many centers can one team have? Jt, Nielsen, Strome, Brock nelson, Reasoner, Bailey, etc. etc.

Personally I think thats too much to give up to help Montreal get out from under the Gomez contract and give them cap relief. Realistically they should be paying someone to do that for them.

The fact that Gillis has said don't waste your time we will match any offer sheet means nothing to you

Maybe someone will take a shot a making the Canucks overpay? Probably not but it would be funny if at some point the Canucks had like 10-12 million locked up in goalie salaries.

You're a joke.

I love how ridiculous everyone thinks it is that two friends who just happen to be KIDS want to play together in the NHL. WOW, WHAT A CRAZY CONCEPT!

This whole scenario has be completely blown out of proportion and this kind of thing has been going on for ages!

Is anyone saying the same crap about Jordan Staal possibly wanting to go play with his older brother in Carolina?

What about the "inseparable" Sedin's?

How about Niewendyk and Roberts playing in Calgary and then in Toronto together. They're business partners for God's sake!

Carter and Richards?

Gretzky/Kurri/Huddy/McSorley on L.A.

I'm guessing that Brayden and Luke Schenn would love to play together...

Holy sh!t people, give it a (frank)in' rest!

The problem is you idiots assume its a 2 for 1 deal. You guys are treating Schultz as if you already own his rights. Which you dont. And if you did you wouldnt be trading him and Gardiner for the 1st over all. You guys are blind to the fact that Schultz could sign anywhere. He isnt part of the Toronto system yet. No way a team is gonna trade theyre 1st overall pick for Gardiner and MAYBE. MAYBE. Schultz.

Then the would move Lu around TDL

But if MG did take the compensation that GM is a fool for paying 6 mil for a guy who played 33 games last year

this might sound odd but it wouldn't be the end of the world having both for at least part of the season.

my reasoning? keep them tight to the cap this year so mg doesn't waste money on this useless crap of ufa's (aside from the big 3 or 4).

They should pick Yakupov, and when the time comes trade Hall for a soild D-Man.
- jonathonpeddle

id rather have hall, good ol canadian power forward. could always trade yakupov down the road but why not just do it now and let the new d man build a chemistry with the core

They could easily wait till TDL.They get the best Goalie tandem in the league and coast into the playoffs. Then teams desperate to make the playoffs that need a goalie start the offers.

Sure, Gillis can match whatever he likes, but that will also cut into Luongo's trade value if Luongo isn't dealt first.

If Burke is gunning for Luongo, I actually hope that Schneider is sheeted and watch Gillis fall all over himself overplaying his hand.

OK

All I have seen from Leaf fans is Luongo has no value but if we don't trade him soon we are going to cut into that value

you and others have said that luongo has no real trade value. basically that the canucks will take whatever they can get just to move him so how exactly will his trade value decrease?

if mg is offered crap right now, i'm pretty sure there will be crap to be had at the TDL or next off season. no reason to take toronto's crap right now just to improve someone else's team.

That could be a good strategy, sheet offer Schnider to drive up his price with the intent to lowball Lu's trade value

I didn't say he wasn't good. I would say he is more "dynamic" than "power". Just my opinion.
