Overpaid not sure about that 6th in scoring with no real center

And with Kessel we know what we have

Wow people aren't even trying to at least be a little bit funny these days..

On topic, are we really saying that Gardiner gets us the 1st overall??

I don't think that Seguin, one for one, is a huge inmprovement over Kessel.

We can't quantify how the players around Seguin and the winning environment would impact his performance.

Would he have lit it up in TOR?

For what it's worth there aren't many players like Kessel who have 4 30g seasons under their belt before the age of 25. He's lived up to his end of the deal.

It's not his fault the goaltending has been an embarassment

- AngryWhiteMale

Kessel is about as well rounded an NHL player one can find.

I don't think Dumba goes that high.

I know it's hard but please don't judge all Leaf fans by some of the riduculous proposals of a few.

I really like Dumba. Probably land 6th with the Ducks.

Oh you mean like how Galchenyuk is going to be in a couple years? The player that the Habs, and NOT Burke, is probably going to get at the Draft?
- Saundies

You mean the consolation prize that is Grigs. I don't think anyone is going to be to upset with that pick in a few years when he proves everyone wrong..

Is this how unemployed Cape Bretoners spend their time?

Ambushing what was otherwise a mildly intelligent conversation with verbal diarrhea?

You were trying to argue in favour of the Leafs of the Kessel trade and you call that intelligent?

Be that as it may, but you must admit, he is indeed quite round for an NHL player.

I wasn't defending BB, I was defending Kessel, and trying to remind him that while he will never be more than the sum of what BB got, he has done an admirable job of living up to be exactly the type of player most people knew he was.

It's just unfortunate that BB didn't listen to all the HockeyBuzzers who knew that one of those two first rounders would be top 2

Ok ok I agree, that's a bit outlandish.

Regardless, I don't remember Sens fans wetting themselves when Karlsson was taken at 15th(16th?) one spot ahead of Colborne and 2 ahead of Gardiner.

I'm not interested in quantifying vlaue for guys in their early twenties by attaching a draft order they fell into.

Gards won't be a Karlsson, but he's not getting respect

- AngryWhiteMale

I agree. I actually think Gardiner isn't that far off from being worth a number 1 pick, either way none of us really know because he is only worth what someone is willing to give up. That being said, even if the Oilers would take that deal, I still think Toronto's best play would be to try and sign Schultz themselves and then draft a really great prospect at #5.

I love how the Oilers fans and many other Leafs haters out there think that Gardiner isn't worth the 1st overall pick, but possibly drafting an unproven D-man in Murray at #1 who apparently doesn't have the offensive upside that Gardiner does is okay?!?!

Furthermore, if the rumours are true, acquiring Gardiner MIGHT also give the Oilers the inside track on Schultz.

Take it from a habitual welfare program abuser. You can get the government to pay for the prescriptions to reverse this disorder.

Meh, aside from Forsberg or Galy I'm not overly stoked about this class.

I'm kinda torn between Faksa and Teravainen being worth a gamble at no. 5 as Teravainen's hockey sense and hands, or Faksa's size would be nice.

A lot of the top 10-12 this year are Dmen

Also

Grigs is too risky.

As I said earlier with Shultz.

If BB has reason to believe that Schultz would follow Gards, then he's spoon feeding them a second helping.

Plus I'm not convinced the price to move up 4 spots is worth what has been mentioned around these parts.

I'd rather we keep no. 5 and see if we can get no. 2 from CBJ for Grabs, Schenn, Mac & Reimer

he's certainly getting more valuable by the day then.
