For some reason I dont want Forsberg. I rather them pick a bigger guy who can hit and use his body. Any of the defenseman I would be happy with.

Oh and agreed there is no way Garth trades this pick no matter what

- kasperrko

I don't want Forsberg either, but he's exactly the type of player that Snow goes for: A kid who's stock recently sky-rocked because of the combine, a guy becoming the "dark horse" or "surprise" of the draft. That was what Nino was two summers ago. Forsberg is three years away from contributing. He may become a great player (I've never seen him play, so I can't evaluate him), but I just can't get the idea that he's another Nino out of my head. Nino may still become a great player, but he's got a Long way to go and I prefer not to have another long-term project.

Besides, I know you don't draft for need, you draft best available, but this team's organziational depth for d-men is nowhere close to what it is up front. I really think d-man is the way to go, considering how close all of these prospects are all ranked after you get past Yakupov.

They should pay us 18 million just to watch them. That will get them to the cap floor.

What do you think Garths gonna do some draft day? Trade the pick, or draft?
- kindlyrick

He'll stay at #4 and hope Murray comes to him. If not, he'll hope Forsberg is still there...I thik he then trades the 2nd pick or 3rd pick for a nhl quality defenseman...

Thomas Hickey a previous #1 pick of the Kings has asked to be traded. Played with Tavares and Subban in the 2009 World Juniors...also was teh captain. I bet you can get him for a #3 pick...

Yeah, Rhett didn't impress me the games he played up with the club, not enough skill for top 6 , to frail for bottom 6

I saw the news about Rak, but what happened to Dibo? Not that I particularly care because I hate him.

I think Nino will be fine.............he's just another example of how not to develope a prospect. Confidence is a huge part of this game. When you're under the microscope everytime you touch the puck, and playing 4th line minutes with hacks, you are destined for failure. Being that the isles still missed the playoffs for however many consecutive years last year.........i would have rather seen Nino play on JT's wing, then with has beens who never were.

So in year 5 of this rebuild, should we as fans be happy with a drafted player who wont make an impact for, say, 3 years or more?

Yes. You take the player that has the best chance to be a major contributor to the team. NHL readiness is at the bottom of the list of important things to consider when you are drafting.

You would like and prefer a player that is ready sooner, but if its a blue chip player.. its worth waiting 3 years.

Hearing ANA's Bobby Ryan is "available" again after being taken off trade market after Randy Carlyle's Duck departure.

True. However, most would still like Garth to behave like a real GM, (with wang doing his best impression of a real owner) and bring in some NHL caliber talent.

Is this TOO MUCH TO ASK???

Is it really though? For their first years in the NHL, Stamkos, Tavares, and Hall were still getting used to the league and the speed. None of them stood out, and they were the best of their class. What makes you think anyone the isles draft at 4 is going to come in and make an impact? I guess the better question is, why take a chance on someone making an impact when you can address the immediate need via trade?

Ive been waiting and waiting and waiting........again, its year 5 of the rebuild. There has to be a point when this organization adds legit NHL veterans with the core. Otherwise, its gonna be the same results. I pay for 4 season tickets, without playoffs.

Im not saying draft the most NHL ready player.........im saying the immediate need is to put a product on the ice that can compete. To do this, you need to have NHL talent. I read so many people on here talking about this draft prospect vs that one..........do fans really want another player to the list of 15 draft prospects waiting to make the team? At what point does this team say, hey, we need to make the playoffs?
