Is that what you wrote when Sather let him go and Parenteau scored one more point than Brad Richards last season? - NYI
Not sure where you are going with this.......but if you havent noticed a common theme with the isles. They like to pick up other teams trash. Why? Because its cheap
Did you really just compare Brad Richards to PA Parentheau? |

The isles dont need another soft forward. Yes PA put up "decent" and i do mean decent numbers, but he's not the answer. Tavares needs to play with a vet. - kindlyrick
With what Pa will be replaced with, I am confident everybody will be wanting PA back next year. Hes not the answer but he certainly provides secondary scoring on a team with zero secondary scoring last season. |

Nah! I was thinking the Isles should continue their plan of dominance and continue to play young guys and then dwindle them away for absolutely nothing like they did with Comeau. LOVE IT! - brodydog29
The Isles did not let Comeau dwindle away, he has 20, 24 goal seasons and never left him alone at left wing to start a season but he was always a terrible starter.
Comeau finished with five goals, fifteen points in seventy four games.
Calgary will not be getting anything when he fails to resign because no NHL team is giving him the two million dollars he made last season.

So the Isles find players who produce here (Streit, Parenteau, Moulson, Grabner) and it's only taking other teams trash because it's cheap.
Of course when Fedotenko is passed from the Isles to Pittsburgh to the Rags that's different? I guess Pittsburgh took the Isles former trash in Richard Park last summer.

Florida took the gamble? They had four more regulation wins than the Islanders and managed to lose 18 games in overtime.
So what you are saying is trading for Brian Campbell's contract who was an overpriced joke in Chicago is the kind of move Snow should make. That he should offer Hamrlik or Souray an over 35 four years sixteen million contract like Jovanovski got.
Why not give that offer to Aucoin and Hamrlik?
Heck why not do what Steve Yzerman did? Bruno Gervais, Bergeron for two years and Matt Gilroy.
You want to call up Burke and help him out with Komisarek's cap hit while he does his Jurcina impersonation for five million? - NYI
So the (frank) what? They finished ahead of the Islanders and were a goal away from the second round. |

Why???
XxNYIxX - XxNYIxX
Because PA is like every other forward (not named Martin or Cizikas) the isles have..........soft. Tavares is the player other teams go after if you havent noticed. Not sure what the love for PA is, but his points are as a result of playing with Tavares, and getting PP time. So lets not get caught up in his point total. |

?????? Dude what are you talking about. Fedotenko??? Are you talking about the same Fedotenko who won two cups with two different teams? Cause if you are, he was a good pick up.........just not for the isles, cause he's a depth forward for a cup contending team. He was misused on the islanders.
Streit was a UFA. PA, Moulson and Grabner were all cheap pick ups who's teams didnt want them . Of the three, the only one who is a real winner is Moulson. |

So according to you, many teams have players that they should let go or be begging other teams to take because they have down years.. Hell, Nino should be cut loose because he only had a point in 50+ games. Screw it, give him the sparky suit and make him earn those bonus', right? Because no one in their right mind should pay an NHL'er to have production like that. |

So you are comparing a player at nineteen making his debut injured into December, playing with an injured center to someone drafted in 2004, who was given many chances, resigned many times, who got a 2.5m dollar contract just before arbitration and lost his job because in sixteen games he had zero points and was minus eleven?

So twenty four year old Grabner who had 35 goals and played hurt this year and scored twenty is not a winner, but Snow takes Moulson from what you call the trash bin and he is a winner?
So the Isles did acquire a player from free agency not from the trash bin who was successful in Fedotenko. Than by your logic they did that with cup winner Eaton, with Mottau who was a top six on a winning Devils team, they did that with cup winner Doug Weight.
The Isles traded Mike Comrie to a team that went to the finals. |

No, just trying to use your logic. But if you want to play injury card some more like you have repeatidly done time and time again for Okposo, Nino, and the entire Islander franchise.. Go ask Parise, coming off a major injury if that slowed him and he used it as a crutch?! |

And in three years when Ryan's contract is up (two if a lockout, one before he has to be traded before he hits UFA unless Wang gives him 60m front-loaded) what's left?
Amazing how a fifty seven point player (who's team finished dead last in the West)
who scores at Moulson's pace is worth half or more of the entire Islander prospect base to some. - NYI
*conveniently leaves out that he was also a 71 point player on a 4th place team just a year ago* Also, since when does Bobby Ryan play for the Columbus Blue Jackets? I assume that's who you meant by the team that finished "dead last in the West."
Finally, Matt Moulson and Bobby Ryan are different types of players. It's not even worth comparing the two. Would you compare Jarome Iginla and Daniel Sedin because both finished with 67 points? They clearly bring different styles of play to their respective teams.
But once you strip all that away, your post actually makes a point in the first paragraph. Not one I necessarily agree with, but one worth talking about at least. And you even managed to work "front loaded" in there again, which I guess means we all have to drink. |

I have to be honest, and please dont take offense, but I truly do not understand your posts. You keep arguing points, that ive never mentioned. The first paragraph i get so I will retort.
Grabner sucks.........he can skate, but he has hands like feet. Two teams passed on him before he came to the island. 35 goals in one year........excellent. You know who else scored 35 goals in one year? Marius Czerkawski, and Miro Satan. You can have all three..... |
