Dude....

You can wish in one hand and poop in the other and see what fills first.

The only words you use of any real importance in all your recent posts bantering with me are IF, BUT, HAD....etc. You deal with past performances like they're just supposed to be duplicated, or worse, enlarged, and you talk about the future as if you're Biff Tannen with that Sports Almanac from Back to the Future 2.

Keep over analyzing my posts like I've seen you do with everyone else, and I'll tune out real quick. Sorry, just putting it out there now.

Dude, I have now tuned you out because you contribute nothing but stupid slogans, movie references and obviously have no interest in anything but complaining or telling me what you don't like . Believe it or not there are a lot of NHL teams that have done the same plan as the New York Islanders and have won the Stanley Cup and all of them took some time.

Analyze that.

How about this year's #1, Grabner, deHaan and Nino for Ryan and a defenseman...if I have to give up Strome...so be it...
- kear20

Why would you give up so much for one player? The Isles have tons of holes. They can't give up that many pieces for any one player in the state they are in unless that player is named Malkin (a healthy) Crosby or along that caliber.

McKenzie retweeted and said it would take two or 3 building blocks (no salary back)to get Ryan. So you would have to give up the first round pick and probably either Nelson or Strome and either Nino or deHaan.

I dont make that trade.......the goal here is to give up the pick and a prospect for a player, not 4 1st rounders. That defeats the whole purpose of the rebuild.

I agree with 100 Percent....who is the mythical player to take us to restore credibility

Sign wideman, trade down and grab reinhardt, trade KO and a 2 for heatley Make a play for allen, would like PAP back though unlikely...no goalie circus this year

- Mike C

Why trade down? take best available at 4... then trade up to get Reinhardt or Ceci later in first round.

And in three years when Ryan's contract is up (two if a lockout, one before he has to be traded before he hits UFA unless Wang gives him 60m front-loaded) what's left?

Amazing how a fifty seven point player (who's team finished dead last in the West)
who scores at Moulson's pace is worth half or more of the entire Islander prospect base to some.

- NYI

I would disagree with your thoughts here... 3 years is a long time. I have no issues giving up DeHaan and first round pick for a guy who is as good as Bobby Ryan and is locked up for 3 years (2 years or less I might care.. 3 is fine.).. What if year 3 He wins cup here and they have a new building.. he isn't going to leave.

Bergevin already said he's not trading Subban.
- eichiefs9

I never listen to that crap.... all GM's say that right before they move him.. we have been talking about PK a lot... It makes too much sense. Habs could get 3rd and 4th pick. They could get cap room to go after UFA's ..etc. Isles get closer to cap floor spending less (cap hit 7.5 while making 5.5 and 4.5 next 2 years).. Gomez is not great but as a bottom 2 center I will take him if it means I get PK.

Staal is a second line center, we need an offensive threat. Whoever gets Staal is going to be offering up a first and a top 6. No way he goes within the division.
- Mr.Black

I am very concerned with what Staal will be when he leaves that team. He is a great player and very young... but he is on a team where he is the 3rd line... never matches up with their best defenders...etc. I am not saying he will be a bust... but it is a risk.

Snow would have gotten so much for him at the deadline... IDIOT!
- Mr.Black

Agreed... we all agree now.. and we all agreed at the Deadline. (although some of the "wolfpack" were saying we had a shot at playoffs.. .while the koolaide guys were saying ZERO shot and trade him... YES YOU KASPER!!)

Last year the rumor was his biggest offer was a 2nd rounder. If that rumor was true and (I doubt it) then I don't blame him on that one.
- mighty13duck

Still should have pulled the trigger.. If he traded Jurcina, Eaton, PA, and other potential UFA.. he would have ended up with at least another second, 3rd and 4th that could be used as a package to move up to late first round this draft. Anything of value should have been moved.

Nope...that's impossible around here now.

Very indicative of how politics is discussed in this country now, which is why I slowly lose interest in posting on any message boards anymore. It's the "I think I'm right mentality, and anyone who disagrees is an idiot who can suck it."

The problem with this guy is I actually threw him a bone, agreed (mostly) with his post, told him his post was pretty much spot on, and he still chose to tell me what an idiot I am. I choose to have a sense of humor about things and drop movie references, I know, I'm a HUGE detriment to this board, and a retard to boot. Should I be the guy who lectures everyone about how great things are in the Land of Oz and take every word written and analyze the poop out of it? Would I serve a bigger purpose shoving what I think is right down everyone's throats?

All I know is I usually go to bed at night with a smile on my face most nights, there are a few who I don't know if they can say the same. I try not to insult people, that's kinda my MO, but, then I'll just choose not to engage people in the future.
No loss from my point of view.

Absolutely.

Snow deserves big criticism for moving on from Martinek, Hillen, Gervais, and not giving Wishart and Resse a spot from day one because that worked in the second half of 2010-11, but he also had a problem and that was slower Eaton, Mottau had contracts and all were coming back from injury plus they had Jurcina.

Wishart played 20 games here in the second half of 2010-11 and was plus five.

Snow made his worst choice as a gm in a terrible market for UFA defenders bringing in Staios and then putting him with Mark Streit which is a joke when you consider Staios was traded for former Islander Aaron Johnson a few years ago.

Teams started keying on Streit from opening night and were taking some big runs at him. The distance between the forwards and defenders were terrible in transition as Eaton, Mottau and those defenders could not skate the puck to the forwards or were pinned in (long passes meant icing) and absolutely could never get in position to sustain any kind of forecheck so there goes your five on five scoring or any sustained pressure.

This sunk Gordon before he was fired, they all got hurt, the team started winning but the problems returned with them last fall.

That plus Snow got unlucky with fair statistical games on Reasoner and Rolston but maybe that was about the defense too.

Bottom line, exit Staios, Jurcina, Eaton, Mottau, enter Donovan, deHaan, Reese and any skating defender with little offense/size and it's as good as any team in the East.

- NYI

That's what you choose to criticize Snow for? Not playing Wishart? F-ing Wishart? Wishart is garbage. And don't give me the garbage that "he was a plus-5 for 20 games" as "proof" that he's a solid player. He is no higher than 4th on the deoth chart in Bridgeport. Ness, Donovan and de Haan are all considered better than Wishart by the organization.

They also missed the playoffs ten years in a row.

I'm just going to smack around this Wolfpack of sheep like Moe, Larry and Curly and if Schemp shows up he'll get a beating too.

What's hypothetical about Staios turnover in Washington that cost the Isles a regulation win against the eventual 8th seed and a sweep at Washington on the season?

Washington won the lottery getting that gift 3-2 overtime win, and that's how a lot of games played out which made all the difference.

You wrote making the playoffs with the kids has the same odds as winning the lottery. Funny how even Gervais, Hillen on a defense in 2010-11 took a team from thirteen games under five hundred to four games under simply because the defense was faster.

- NYI

If you think this team would have competed in the playoffs last year you are clearly out of your mind.
