I don't understand the obsession of acquiring Nash. I'm going to sit in a dark room and try to get to the bottom of this.
- stveshdy

I don't get it either & based on me wanting to keep this team together so they can grow I don't really want to see a major move but realize they'll turn over every rock to see if they can make a move.

As per team the Ottawa Senators have signed Erik Karlsson to a 7-year contract extension.

- flyerscup2011

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie

Wow, that didn't take long on the Karlsson contract. 7 years, annual cap hit of $6.5M.

I said before and I will say again. Drinking and driving is not illegal, drinking too much and driving is. I cant say I never made a bad judgement call when I was younger, but I do not drive drunk now, nor do I plan to again. You guys can say all you want about better be safe then sorry, safer to not... Well its safer if you never step outside your house. You going to go that far? What about all those people on thier percocets driving to work? Is drunk driving a problem? Yes. But those of us that are responcible about it should not bare the brunt of other people's mistakes. And your not going to convince me that I am a bad person, or I'm making a bad judgement call by having 2 beers with my dad for fathers day, then driving home after.
- RooNosHockey

Yes, I'm willing to go that far. Please do not leave your house again. Thanks for offering to do this to keep the rest of us safe!

The Flyers obviously don't feel the current team is good enough. Not sure why that is the thought process when they played so many rookies last year.

They never feel it's good enough, but they also rarely let a team grow together either.

I guess when you have the flexibility to spend to the cap they feel theres no point in waiting, thats my guess.

Freddy Galvis has been suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball for a positive PED test. That substance is being referred to as a "metabolite of Clostebol." And Clostebol is an anabolic androgenic steroid. Gavlis has been on the disabled list since June 6 with a fracture in his lower back. He can serve the punishment while on the shelf, which is quite convenient.

Hearing ANA's Bobby Ryan is "available" again after being taken off trade market after Randy Carlyle's Duck departure.

I feel like JVR and the 20th overall are definitely not enough to sway Columbus. Gotta wonder what else Columbus wants thats reasonable. Bob? Bourdon? Gus? Wellwood?

Where the hell are all these big ticket forward rumors coming from? Why the hell would the Flyers blow up their cap for players like Nash, Parise, and now Bobby Ryan. They need a top pair dman way more. Im getting tired of it.....unless Homer is just playing the media....

I think Bouwmeester can benefit from a change of scenery, but his cap hit doesn't wash with his performance.
- PLindbergh31

So many are complaining about Bouwmeester when the guy hasn't missed a game since the 03-04 season, he only has 2 more years on his contract (When we're going to need a replacement for Pronger and Timonen no matter what) and I don't see how Timonen is worth a 6 million dollar cap hit either. Bouwmeester can only go into 2 different directions in Philly. He could be what he was with the Panthers (Which would make his cap hit dead on) or he'll continue to suck. Since he doesn't have much trade value, I think Jay Bouwmeester is worth the 2 season risk. This is only if we can't pick up a top defenseman somewhere else. Not to talk down about the Calgary Flames but the Philadelphia Flyers are a better and more balanced team then they are. If Jay Bouwmeester were to come here, the odds are in his favor that he'll improve.

He's setting up for the defenseman. Driving the price up on all the forwards when in reality he has no desire to add one.

It's Pierre LeBrun, which is French for "Bruce Garrioch."

All that would do is give them a good laugh and a dial tone.

Believe me when I tell you this is not a draft you want to move up in, it's got depth but not something you can get at 20 that you can't get at 10.

Hasn't missed a game, but missed assignments, cough-ups, and bad passes aplenty. The good news about his potential acquisition is that Matt Carle would be LOVED.

Really? Jeff Carter got us the 7th pick overall and Voracek. That sounds right on par to me.
